Should I consolidate Daughter's debts?

If my parents had paid my debt off I would have run it up again twice as fast. My family paid the deposit for my house. Well They gave me money when I was little and ordered me to save it up for uni. Fortunatly uni was still free then.

It's tough, but as a couple of other people have said it's better to help in other ways than consolidating on your daughter's behalf. My Mum has kindly let me move back home so my rent is much less than when I was renting privately and don't have bills on top which has meant a huge saving that I can chuck at my debts.

Which is the best thing she could have done for me, even if she could have helped in paying it off I wouldn't have wanted her to, it's my debt, so it's my problem. It'll be hard and it'll take time but your daughter will learn much more and feel much prouder if she can sort this out herself. Maybe you could pitch in with some money saving tips or introduce her to the board, that'd give her some encouragement?
