How about making a recipe box as a handmade pressie from scratch for family that contains a recipe YOU have tried out each week in the coming year...

Ok im not proclaiming to be Nigella but i want to try out some new recipes etc and since the last lot went down so well on my blog ive set a little year long challenge of a recipe a week :)

Each monday i will post the ingredients needed, you have all week to get these (we are all short on time etc so i didnt want to say you have to have it done by ....)

tue/wed/thur one of these days i will post the step by step recipe and if its sweets we are making i will post a tutorial for making the sweet box, gift box, cupcake display etc.....

Sat/Sun you can upload (before then if youre finished early) to the countryheartandhome cooks facebook group to share your pics and ideas to make the recipe better, what you would change, different frostings/topping etc.

Ive got a thick skin so im up for critisicm - im doing this mainly for me to help me bake more etc so if anyone joins in ...bonus....if not then thats ok too :)

Tutorial on my blog - countryheartandhomeDOTblogspotDOTcom today as i made the recipe box and the first details to go up tomorrow are for Carrot Cake with frosted topping :)

I know a lot of the girls on here have made the boxes etc i already have tutorials for so i thought since this could be crafted into a 'family recipe box' to be given at Christmas this would be the right place to upload - let me know if it should be moved :)

Thanks girls - no commitment needed at all hun, pop in and out when you like and if you have a fave recipe of your own why not make it, take a pic and upload it for us to try :) Its a whole group thing and im hoping the more that take part, the more recipes we will have over and above the 52 for the year :) Im going to do a seperate section at the back of my recipe box for all the additional ones i try over the year so all imput is welcome :)

I'd already decided to make my sisters books with family recipes (to save them having to phone mum all the time, which is what I do ;)). I couldn't think of a good way to present and package it all up to look nice but you've solved that problem. :T I'm going to follow your tutorial and use the card idea for my family recipes and any of yours that I manage to make.

    Thanks for the idea.
