back again didnt post yesterday as i worked a double shift
now on holliday from work for the next two weeks.
gonna get the budget written out ready for the family powwow this weekend sometime. more bad news, due to changing jobs i have got a really really low wage this month about £500 less than i normally get so things are going to be really tight this month. when am i gonna get some good news!!!!!!!
sorry but im feeling a little depressed right now. its just that i know i wont be able to make any overpayments or save any money for my debts.
on a lighter note i will have spare time to really clean the house and maybe get rid of some of the familys treasures (aka junk) on ebay.
onwards and upwards in the fight against my debt
    regards

    hello again,
not having the best day to be honest.
dh wants to go to the butcher for scotch pies for lunch and i said no cos i cant afford it there must be something in this house for eating so he is in the huff and now away out for the day with my dad!!!
forgot to mention about yesterday im quite pleased with myself really, my daughter in law asked me "next time your in asda can you get my daughter some cheap nighties" so i went in yesterday and picked up around £40.00 of cheapish clothes for my three georgeous granddaughters!!! stood in a big queue to pay and eventually left asda with nothing cos i got fed up waiting in the queue. £40 potentially saved there im well chuffed. the daughter in law that asked would have been really appreciative and grateful if i had bought the clothes for her daughter but my other daughter in law would not have been because everything people buy for her two daughters just ends up the bin because she is the biggest most stubborn money waster i know.
    rant over sorry.
had to tax the car this morning so im down £175. will start buying savings stamps at the po for next time (valuable lesson learned there). gonna go now and put the budget down on paper for our family meeting later i am not looking forward to that.
and im going to do a storecupboard, fridge and freezer inventory and see what i have in as this is going to be a very lean month indeed, once i have a full inventory of food i will post on the old style board and get some meal ideas.
sorry to go on so much it just gets to me being so skint all the time
    regards

    Hey Mrs A

I just wanted to say chin up and even though you've heard it so many times before, we really do all go through moments like that!

At the family pow-wow is it worth asking the boys what efforts they could make? Have you explained the situation to them in regards to what you're trying to do? You never know they might come up with something you hadn't thought of, and even if it's just simple things, at least you won't feel like you're on your own so much.

Maybe a weekly challenge for the month? One week each of the boys have to try and cook a meal for as little as humanly possible for everyone? And then the 4th week is for the man of the house.

Is the OH supportive of what you're trying to do?

How much have you got to pay for your suite? Have you been making any minimum payments or is just buy now pay later?

How much have you got in terms of christmas savings? Could this or part of this be better utilised somewhere else?

Well done on resisting the temptation to spend £40 in Asda! I used to pick up bits and pieces for people but generally found I rarely ever gt it back, nor did I want to ask for the money, since they didnt necessarily ask me to get it.

I know it's hard when you feel like you're taking on the world, and we really do all feel like its a never ending battle, but having a support netwrok even if it's online, does me (especially) the world of good.

Good luck with the fam' meet, and I hope things go better for you over the next few days :)

I can't believe anyone would criticise you for what you are doing. You are making steps and we are not all perfect soemtimes we stutter and fall but the important thing is that you recognise these as opposed to ignore them, so its a plus point. As for getting your son to cook, I think its great. It gives him a better understanding of earning his money and also it allows him to learn more about cooking so that when he does leave home he will be pretty much self sufficient.

Mrs A - just wanted to say you are doing a fab job!! It must be difficult when you have an OH & kids to think of, especially when they may not have a lightbulb glowing as brightly as yours, but I am sure your OH will get over his huff.

Keep up the excellent work & enjoy your time off work.

well we have had the family pow wow and it turned nasty
all the Mr A's are not even interested
i just couldnt get them to listen to me i asked them all for thier opinions and ideas and they all just ignored me
well Mr A put a lock on the kitchen door months ago and we dont use it but i guess i will be now just to stop them all eating.
during our pow wow one of them went to make a sandwich, he was going to open a tin of tuna and make a tuna mayo sandwich and i stopped him by saying that i didnt have much money for food shopping this month so could he have jam on his sandwich as i have a couple of jars in the cupboard and that the tuna could be used as part of an evening meal and he just went into a bad mood and did without ( so that saved a bit of cash) as i put his 2 thick slices of hm bread into a freezer bag and into the freezer.
i am hoping that i can be strong enough for all of them this month and maybe they will start to pay attention eventually.
    Any ideas
    regards

    morning
last night i stuck up my first weeks menu planner on my kitchen wall
what a surprise i got everyone said mum what a fabulous idea you could have knocked me down with a feather especially after the reaction i got to the family pow wow???????
so having done my weekly menu plan and written a strict shopping list im going to tesco today widh me luck that i stick to the list.
also going to granddaughters 4th birthday party this afternoon i didnt buy her a present cos i have some stuff in my cupboard that i had bought in sales and put away for xmas so she is getting a doll, not that her mother will approve but what the hell my need to save money is greater than hers and im sure my granddaughter will be happy with her new doll.
will let you all know how the strict shopping went later
    regards
