    hi
well today i have done a 3 ingredient soap powder mix, cut all my dishwasher tablets in half.
took 1lb of beef mince and made
    bolognese
    lasagne
and mince for mince and tatties.
made 2 home made pizzas which my brood devoured in one sitting for lunch (i was hoping to sneak one into the freezer).
filled in my spending diary, had to get a few bits for our packed lunches this week.
    spend over an hour ironing.
    regards

working the late shift today so have to do money matters this morning.
    ok its not looking good
been working on the budget and its a bit frightening
if i have to follow it to the letter or penny i am only going to have £117 per month to throw at my suite payment and overdraft that means £58.50 each per month and will take ages i know its better than some people can manage but its all a bit depressing really i thought there would have been more.
think i need to got a 0% c.c and bung the suite on that to give me a bit breathing space because the interest of 29.9% will kick in in december and as you all know i havent paid or saved anything from that so far.
    anyone else got any ideas????
on a lighter note i achieved all my money daving goals from yesterday so thats something and to even begin the budget is a huge step for me. i think i need to get it all down on paper at the weekend and have a family meeting about it so that the lovely Mr A and all the little master A's are fully aware of why cutbacks need to be made. Mr A has always left the whole money thing to me. who knows they might even have some good ideas to help us along slightly
hope everyone has a good day
    regards

Maybe after your family pow-wow, all the male A's can have a rootle for anything that could be Ebayed or car-booted? That would give you a chunk to go towards the suite they all sit on, and help them to feel involved in the process of paying for it.

The other thing is, you've lost 3/4 of a stone in just over 3 weeks - are you not eating?? That is really good - I wish i could do that! :)

    hey Mrs A,

I have only just read your thread but would like to congratulate you on your efforts. I think most of us go through the same thing, start off really keen and gun ho only to lapse after a couple of weeks, it's like a diet.
Regarding your sofa, I don't know about your agreement but with mine I cannot pay it off using a credit card, just something to bear in mind.

Xmas savings - £100 a month? This seems pretty high!! So do:

    Clothes, Food/Cleaning/Pets

Alcohol - £100 a month? This is not a good sign. I notice you are trying to lose weight? Alchohol wont help with that I'm afraid...

    Smokes - £100 a month? As above..

Petrol - £240 - are these necessary trips, could it be cut down?

How old is the son that you are paying £10 for cooking? Could you lower it to £5? (depending on his age).

    Petrol - £240 a month

You are spending a lot on mobiles/home phone/internet/sky - could you get an all-in-one package? Or cancel one or the other?

I appreciate you have a family, so food & living expenses are going to be higher - but you also need to make some sacrifices.

    xx
