How to get a Mortgage while I'm Temping

Hi, Myself and my partner are looking to buy a house together, I'm currently renting, mt partner has 2 properties both of which he is wanting to rent out.
We have found a nice house but I'm worried we wont be able to get a mortgage on it as I work for a temping agency, I always have work this way but I'm never in the same place more then a year although I am applying for permanent positions. My partner has a permanent job which he has had for 12 years but we would need a joint mortgage, does anyone know where we would stand on this please?
Thanks, Julie

Hi, im no expert but as no one else has posted ill have a go.
it will come down to things such as how much deposit you have compared to the cost of the new house, how much your income is and is your partners income high compared to the cost of the new home. also he has two other properties are these owned outright or is there other mortgages loans credit cards etc. do you both have good credit ratings etc etc
i dont think temping will be a big issue if you can show you have worked this way for some years..
put up more details and im sure you will get more info from other's......0 -
Lenders like to see contracts renewed and a good history. If its with the same agency it will help. Its 2009 though so I would talk to a good broker or start talking to lenders. I am sure one of the current brokers will be along soon!"Banking establishments are more dangerous than standing armies." Thomas Jefferson

my girlfriend has been working temp/supply for local council in nurserys for just over a year and we managed to get a mortgage from Nationwide easy. We are FTB..
all they asked for was last 3 pay slips and her P60:T:money::T0 -
Thank you all for your help. I didnt manage to get a mortgage, its all in my partners name now. Unfortunately we're in the process of breaking up so I now havent got a leg to stand on financially. I work full time, still temping and my credit rating isnt great so I cant get a mortgage and renting is going to be too expensive. Just hope we can sell the house and split the profits although he doesnt seem to want to sell the house as he wants to stay there. Not sure where to turn now especially as I've got a 5 year old daughter who needs some stability and its her I'm thinking of in all of this.0
