CCJ's

before Christmas i had the forms through from a collection agency re an unpaid store card

they said if i didnt pay in full by a certain date i would have a ccj put against my name.

well i managed to pay in full but havent recieved anything to confirm payment and that i wont have a ccj, totally forgot all about it till i had my lightbulb moment on here the other day

    just give them a call and ask for a statement showing the account is settled. They have to send you one if you ask.

    a debt collection agency can't have a CCj put against your name. they can apply to a court. the court would summons you to appear before it and you would have an opportunity to put your case. the judge may or may not issue a ccj depending upon the circumstances.

    think i did have court papers but paid before action was due to be taken, i was in a bad place with PND and tried to bury my head in the sand, but no more of that for me
