Please let me state before anyone gets the wrong idea about this thread? Being organised is in no way about pleasing husbands (it may be a side effect though). It's all about getting rid of stress and freeing up time to do other things, you'd be amazed how much time we lose through hunting for things, forgetting about things and procrastinating. We can lose hours over a job which when set to with a will would have taken 10 minutes max.
This is all about setting summer free for us to play!!!0 -

I'm so glad you said that Moggins, I was getting worried. I love the way your signature describes you differently to the v. organised person you are!
I'm a great lover of lists and stuff, but if I had a daily list I think I would feel too restricted over what I had to do every day. However I feel I would find a '3 weekly' one helpful, e.g. reminding me to deep clean the fridge and cooker etc.

wow...that myblessedhouse is a bit ott for me....i am just about domesticated compared to that........but hayho if thats how they live and do things....who am i to judge.............i just want to get a bit of organization to my days.....so when it comes 9pm i want to know what the heck i have done with my day.. apart from being on mse ALL DAY so its monday a new day a new week.....so i will setting out my folder today, i will also be putting a section in there for my weekly spends....and thats every thing... you know go to shop and buy sugar...so put the price down...so i can also keep track on my spending, used to do it before, but kept forgetting... but now with my folder because i will be using it every day for other reasons.... should keep me on track......i have also started buying christmas pressies.. you know the type its reduced down so you buy it as a stocking filler etc....so there wil be a section in there for that so i can keep track of them, as normally they are hidden away and i forget about them, and find then in march or something after christmas....
what sections is everyone else putting in their folder ?
just to give me some ideas..... this sounds really silly but i am quite excited about this.....does that sound sad or what.... being excited about a fill with paper in it....Work to live= not live to work0 -
Thanks for the list Moggins !
If I do half of what you have listed ,my house will be transformed:o
We do tend to let our hobbies take over so at the mo there are OH's magazines and books on the sitting room floor ,DD's keyboard balanced on an armchair ,my sewing things in the dining room (they get shunted about)...anyway ,you get the picture.
Once when the health visitor came for DD's baby check up she said she loved our house because it looked as though we lived there
The myblessedhouse link was interesting...
Not sure I could put my husband before the children I think that would only work if he put the children before himself (maybe her OH does).
Her emergency cleaning list was quite good though .
Must get downstairs and tackle some cleaning before the urge is gone0 -

The 'other's binders' are interesting as well.I find these American women strangely fascinating - scary but interesting.
I don't mean to mock their faith, but fundamentalist Christianity is pretty scary :eek:all that stuff about submission to your husband...mmm

I've bookmarked that site Thriftlady.I find them strangely fascinating as well. Can't wait to have a good look later. I think Moggins should post a picture of hers on here.

My DH once pointed out to me that trousers could be a jolly sight more modest than dresses. We were half way up a lighthouse at the time - with him behind me on the steps....:o
He did have the grace to say that he personally didn't mind the view at all - but felt that it was probably better for it not to be on general show :eek:
just a quick edit to point out that I was wearing a summer dress at the time - in case that wasn't obvious from the context!0 -
I like the idea of being organized (for reference I am very modestly dressed at the mo even though I am not planning on climbing any lighthouses today) but I am not so keen on the pratical side. If I did everything on Moggins' very iimpressive list I'd need a month in the Priory to recover:rotfl:Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p
In England we have Mothering Sunday & Father Christmas, Mothers day & Santa Clause are American merchandising tricks:mad: Demonstrate pride in your heirtage by getting it right please people!0
