Arrgh, I've wrecked a t-shirt!

My bf got grease (from cooking oil) on his work uniform. It's a navy polo shirt thing.
It didn't wash off the first time I washed it, so I put a little bit of shampoo on the grease marks and rubbed it in before washing it in the machine again. It came out with big white marks where the shampoo had been. I washed it again, but it hasn't made any difference.
Can anyone help me please?!?
BTW, When I spilt cooking oil on my jeans and it didn't come out in the wash, I rubbed a bit of shampoo into the stains and next time I washed them, the marks had disappeared (I found the tip on a website). I don't know what's gone wrong this time!

I use Ace Liquid for any stains, wet the stain with this, just don't let is dry, so start your machine straight away.
Hope it works.0 -
Sounds like the t-shirt wasn't colour-fast and the shampoo took the dye out of it where you rubbed it in. I did this once with Fairy Liquid.
I suspect there's nothing you can do other than dyeing the t-shirt but perhaps others will have some ideas.0 -
I read somewhere that you should put brown paper over the stain and put a hot iron on it. This should melt the oil into the paper. I have never tried it though so I don't know if it works.0

Oil of Eucalyptus( available in chemists)gets rid ofoilstains and will get rid of any cold at the same time! You`ll recognize the smell! That will evaporate when you wash the T shirt normally.0
