Louise love, make sure you're not making excuses for him. The Bogbeast from The Lower Reaches Of Hell (my soon to be ex hubby) was like that, and my gods I made up some excuses for that [STRIKE]man[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]person[/STRIKE] awaiting label. The end of the day, you're struggling, love, and he needs to realise this. You deserve to have the support. Give the boy a chance, sit him down and tell him what you'd like support wise. In my experience if they don't at least try and do as you ask, then they can't be that interested. Harsh, but true.

You're among friends here, babe, we're all in the same boat, and we all have our off days, where we think Oh My Gods I Owe So Much Money and go and have a cry. The end of the day, you're doing something about it, and you should be so proud of yourself. Imagine how many people are right now buying stuff on Ebay on their cards, racking up more debt. You're no longer one of them, and right here right now you are MBNA's Worst Nightmare (tm) - a savvy shopper, Debt Free Wannabee, and one cool chick. Have a cup of tea/glass of wine/slug of JD and toast yourself, you deserve it.
This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

  • Hi Louise, only just read your OP but send you ((((BIG HUGS)))). Please don't beat yourself up for the way you're feeling, it's OK and natural to be down sometimes and there's not always an obvious reason. Sorry to hear OH isn't able to offer the support you need right now but there are lots of wonderful posters on here who will help. I know it's been said before but try and take some time for yourself to simply relax - the mood will lift in time. (Sometimes it's hard to believe that but hang on in there and be gentle on yourself). Sending you kindest thoughts and warm wishes......NS

    Hey Louise.
Just wanted to say hi, and send a huge MCBIRNIE25 hug :-)
Honestly blokes are sllllllllooooowwwwwww at the best of times over stuff like that( not me, i'm an exception to the rule, my mummy said so) but even more so while the world cup is on. Threaten to turn the footy off for a night if he doesn't hug you, you will soon become hugged like never before :-)
Anyway, the advice here is good. Spend a night every week or 2 investing in you ltd, you need quality time just to recharge and as you enjoy helping out others, they would want you to have sometime for yourself, even if only to come out turbo charged the next day to carry on doing as you wish. I find a bubble bath, candles, bottle of beer or 12, music on full volume(sod the neighbours for an hour, then go round n apologise, bottle of wine helps too) and a book helps.Stop laughing, i can do macho too when needed.
Anyways, take care, and come and let off steam on here when needed.

    Hi everyone

Thank you so much for all your words of support - it really meant a lot to me.

I went home from work yesterday and got home at 4.20 and sat and had a little chat with my best friend (my dog! ) he gave me cuddle (in return for a markie) and together we decided that we can get through anything.

By ten to five, I was at my next job coaching sport. It's easy enough - just a class for fun for an hour. Then I jumped in the car again and headed to the club where I am the head coach. The kids were great and I felt good after the two hours (realised it's hard to be miserable with kids about). They I covered another coaches adult class for them with the help of a young newly qualified coach. She is a breath of fresh air and a lovely teenager. It was then I realise that I do enjoy what I do, it's just the extra hassle that gets to me when things need sorting out.
I then went to see my dad (who was looking after my dog) to collect the dog, have my tea (dad's a good cook I learned last night!) and see how he is because his mum is very very ill in hospital and my mum is hundreds of miles away helping to look after her.
I then came home and phoned OH. I decided I wasn't going running tonight, as I need a break from it and OH said he would do a bbq and we will watch the footie (we are both footie mad - I'm all sports mad, but never seem to get a chance to watch any)

I am going to leave the dog to sweep up his own dog hair off the stairs and have a soak in the bath.
Then tomorrow after work I am heading to Lincoln to visit my gran and have cancelled all my training sessions over the weekend.

And you were all right - I fell better for having tackled some (albeit little) this,

Oh - I have broke into my tenner pocket money today for the first time this week (give it to myself on Sundays!). I bought a packet of Haribo for 99p (a moment of weakness, but they were bogoff and I don't care!) 20p on a bottle of cherry aid (really bad, but it was hot and I was thirsty - it was the cheapest drink in the shop) and a couple of pork supremes for the bbq - oh and £1.30 for the tea kitty at work.

Sorry for the ramble - and thanks again

    Hi Louise,

So glad you are feeling a bit better.

Come back for a ramble whenever you need more input that your best friend can give. No markies needed for us lot !!!
Is it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches

 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast
