latest: looking to save nearly £200 a year by changing house insurance providers, and buying online to get a hefty discount. I can't believe several years ago I decided to just go with an offer that seemed reasonable without looking around for other deals. Schoolboy error!!!Mortgage free I: 8th December 2009!

Hi there, I renewed mine about a month ago - it seems to be whopping in comparison with other peoples' but having looked at everything on offer via topcashback, i eventually went with the Halifax. The Halifax worked out the cheapest, even after taking the various cashbacks available into account - it also offered a £50 cashback itself!! Certainly might be worth checking out, but maybe better for more expensive insurance...?
Good luck!

I've been trying to work out how much extra I would have saved if I knew about MFW earlier. Overpaying by £500 a month instead of saving it would have been much better. I'm dreading the figure when I finally work it out - let's hope my first mortgage lender had strict OP rules back then!Mortgage free I: 8th December 2009!

A quick update today,
halfway through the year and I'm at 71% of my savings target for 2010. Whether I'll be successful at MFW2012 I don't know because I need to be at 133% by December. Keep moving on though...
BTW, does anyone know how I can change the title of my thread. Its not letting me, only the first post title?Mortgage free I: 8th December 2009!

Hope it gives someone inspiration to post this but since October 2009 when I paid off a large chunk of the mortgage off I've calculated that I've saved £3,782 worth of interest going into the bank's pocket, roughly saving £11 a dayMortgage free I: 8th December 2009!
