I have about £11,000 to clear, me and OH are really focused on clearing it this year, £10,000 would be good by the end of the year if we can't clear it all, we are looking quite good this month because we were given money for xmas and both of our birthdays are in january so we were given even more money then. We have also started what we thought was a very strict budget however we are finding that we are underspending on most things, all except petrol.

I cant wait until we pay all of our cc bills so that we can properly add up what we can knock of the £10,000.

    Total Debt: [STRIKE]£24,359.79[/STRIKE] £16,452
    debt reduced by 32%
    Debt free date: May 2019
  • Well done everyone who's managed to make extra money towards your total :)

I've just been credited £37.12 from illustration merchandice on Zazzle and I've had notice that another £15.36 has sold :)

I don't know about the rest of you but I'm hating the weather. Everyone I know is excited about the snow but I'm just miffed that I'm having to either keep the CH on or stay huddled under a blanket with a hot waterbottle.

  • I'm getting impatient now..............I really want to update my signature to show how much I'm paying off.......I'm feeling left out, you're all doing so well!

I agree! Its brilliant to see what everyone else is paying off! Well done, and to those who have had unexpected payments to make elsewhere, don't worry about it- we are only 10 days in so you have plenty of time.

I have made £10 MS and £14 from selling an old mobile phone so have updated my sig. Not much, but it will all add up eventually :T

Hi to all the new savers!

Can i count the money i have payed towards debt too in my total to 10,000? As i am saving yet paying off debt at the same time. Have payed off £200 in debt already this year.

Of course you can. The overall target for me is split between debt and saving. :D

What a great thread; can I join too?

Thought we had a lot of debt but always thought it was under control but have spent the last few days sorting out finance and it would appear it's not quite as rosy as we thought. , so this thread would be a big help.

Rather than being debt free by the end of the year, I still think we can pay off £10k.

Or it might even be more if I get the juicy promotion I have been chasing...

    :D

I would say so yes- Just keep a track of what you pay off/save/earn extra and aim to hit your target by the end of the year. It doesn't matter whether you save or pay off debt- either way you're doing something good! :T
