Took just over a year, this job has been a well paid stupid hours never home one.
Hoping for something more local now even if its less money. Although if I get offered a stupid money one, might think about tackling mortgage...

I've been lucky in getting one well paid contract. Bit of a fluke. However just 18 months ago that would have meant no savings and weekends in the carribean... now, the thought of no savings makes me feel sick.
And lately I've been trying hard at MS techniques. All freebies I can get, pigsback, discounts and vouchers for everything, switched insurers, electricity and gas.. everything suggested here. A
nd the food has gone oldstyle big time. B/f loving the homecooking and even does some himself!
Now I'm thinking it's not about how much I earn-it never has been -it's all a state of mind.
However - I still have about a year (probably) to go - so not finished yet!Debt free 4th April 2007.

I think in the depths of debt paying we loose sight of the fact that we did actually have fun whilst we spent the money!! Admittedly we might not remember it due to alcohol etc, but think back and think of things that you did that you can laugh at that night out, remember the meal out with friends etc. Yes we could have done it cheaper, we didn't, we will in future, but don't write off your past! Just think of the cost of maintaining the swimming pool and the fact that it would be too cold to swim in most of the time....and the house you'd need to go with it!!!
