I'm Radio 2's New Music Critic. Even though I've never bought a CD in my life!

Regulars may know I've never bought a record, tape or CD in my life.... no, not to MoneySave, but I simply don't listen to music, never have done. As part of Radio 2's new music club launch, alongside music-hating Peter Oborne of the Spectator, we're becoming 'blank slate' music critics.
It starts this Friday 2 June every day at 1.30pm.
What will happen
Listeners are being asked to champion a song to 'change your life' which we'll then review, and the top ten will be picked for a listener vote.
Read Radio 2's Page and nominate your song

I love music, I just can't contemplate a world with no tunes...pop, rock, jazz, blues & classical... I love it all (except panpipes) in fact if I was on desert island discs I wouldn't have enough choices to get all my faves in.0

To be honest, as someone mentioned above, some people just dont get different kinds of art, frankly, i love music, dont have too much time for modern art or scupture really. Whatever floats you boat i guess. That other blok, though, Peter from the Spectator, well. Doesnt he just go to show that Right-wingers just dont like to see people having fun??? He doesnt like music on principle, because it gives people pleasure, not because of anyother reason. Bet he endorses pleasure where its paid for in brown paper bags to prostitutes though...
Anyway, Husker Du 'Ice Cold Ice', Cardiacs 'Is this the life', Gene Clark 'So you say you lost your baby', Link Wray 'Rumble', The Sonics 'Psycho', Blue Oyster Cult 'Dont fear the reaper', British Sea Power 'Fear of Drowning', all float my boat....0 -
