I am new to money saving OS and have decided to try the grocery challenge for June.
In my family there is me, a 10 year old, 2 six year olds plus a boyfriend who spends most of his free time here.
I have set my budget for £200 this month which should hopefully cover the cost of running the car and party food for one of my daughter's who turns 7.
I cant believe how excited I am :j :rotfl:I intend to live forever - so far so good! :j0 -
I am in this month.
£350 for 2 adults, 4 children, 1 dog, 6 cats and 1 bunny.
Sounds a bit high but got DS1's 18th birthday this month:eek:
If anyone has got a spare cow, I could probably halve my bill:rolleyes:
Month to run 29/05 to 26/06

Just re-read this and realised that what I said about the cow comes across wrong:doh: What I actually meant was that I needed the cow for milk:o We get through an average of 6 pints a day:eek:'We can get over being poor, but it takes longer to get over being ignorant'

I'm at around £30 a week including things like bought lunches (1 toddler, and me) and am trying to clear the freezer out, so I'm aiming for £25 a week this month. This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!
Current Pay Off Target : £1500 :mad:0 -
OK, I'm in too - but haven't a clue how to set target:
1. I'm here most of time but have nights away with work - these obv don't count as get refunded?
2. DD off to America in 7 days - will be going out for nice meal beforehand
3. DS back from uni - explained am cutting costs -'yeah, whatever' was reply but may be different when bacon runs out....
4. OHH (only 1/2 of OH as only see him weekends and occ during week) - this is where it gets really complicated.... I buy food & drink for house when we eat in, he mainly pays when we go out & he also gives me some money when we haven't - he thinks I'm rippinmg him off, I think he's ripping me off equally happy/unhappy!!!!! - don't know how month will pan out yet.
Am planning therefore £150 for all food & toiletries which is manageable..... can someone tell me where alcohol budget is recorded....
YOU ARE KIDDING AREN'T YOU!!!!!! THAT'S SUPPOSED TO INCLUDE IT:eek:        CRIKES, NEED A STIFF DRINK ALREADY.....ok, £150 all in, will monitor every penny, but will be knocking off any contribution from OHH.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

This month I aim to beat this, as well i have things in Stock now & my Freezer is full, although only small. im not setting myself a Target but hope to do very well, budget includes my Lunch at work too.
Does help when I bought 4things in the Co-op on special offer and only got charged for two hehe.0 -

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :T you have definately joined the ol style club! After one week on here I couldn't move for all the white vinegar I had bought on bogofs!
I am giving myself a head start on this months budget by trying to live off what is in store for as long as I can. Could be some very odd meals coming up:eek:Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

first month for me for the grocery challenge. I know what we've spent for the last 2 1/2 years though as I track all our spending with MS money. We average £350 pcm for food for 2 adults, 2 children (8 and 6), 1 baby (15 months), 1 dog and 3 cats!
I'm aiming for £300 for June0 -

Hi I am new too! To follow a thread you have to subscribe. If you go to the top of the thread there is an option that says 'Thread Tools' and then you have to pick the 3rd option 'subscribe to thread' I think that you can get alerts to let you when new replies are posted (I think!).
I would like to join in too please. I have been trying to budget for the last couple of months. This month I have changed the way I shop to try and be a bit smarter I am trying to stick to 177.00 for the month (sorry pound sign key doesn't work) this is for 2 adults and a baby (formula not included!) and equates to 40.00 per week. I am hoping to cut this down a bit so am keeping my eyes peeled for any helpful tips or advice!!
