Hi people,
I'm need a new PC, was wondering if it is better to wait til after Christmas? I was thinking that computers don't drop in price much in the sales but my girlfriend thinks otherwise. And anyone know of anywhere cheaper than PC world? Thanks.

DellOutlet are pretty good, but you have to watch the site like a hawk, the stock changes almost minute-by-minute as they get new stuff in and ship stuff out.Back on MSE after a 5 year hiatus.

You could buy second hand? I've bought second hand PCs before. Just whack a fresh install of the OS on (most people do that anyway to get rid of their data) and away you go. Try AVforums.com they have a classified section on there for PCs and PC bits.0

If you want good value then buy a Mac. Before other posters tell me im wrong my reasoning is sound!
A Mac will last longer, and depreciate a lot slower ergo when you go to sell it on you will still get a premium and a lot more than you would with a PC!
OSX is the best OS (IMO) on the planet and Windows does not even come close)
Its a better build, and you get useful software preinstalled and none of the crap you get when you buy a PC. You will not need to purchase any anti-virus software and you will have a more enjoyable experience!
I would suggest looking at the refurbished Mac's directly from Apple!:beer:In My 'Permanant' Pre-Masters Gap Year

Woah there! 2 things - you don't need to purchase anti-virus software on a PC either (many programs are free), but that comment also hints that Macs aren't infected with viruses, which they are!
Macs do have their place, but it depends if you want something mainstream or not.
Also, the Dell link you want is the UK one (www.dell.co.uk/outlet)
Many other companies do refurbished computers too, even PC World do them. However if you've ever though yourself reasonable at DIY, try your hand at building your own, it's actually alot easier than you think (the motherboard manual usually steps you through all the parts of what goes where and in what order). Once you get over your initial hang ups you'll wonder why you haven't built them yourself before!
If you don't want a self-build, another company I can suggest are CCL Computers. But any other sites like EBuyer, Scan, Aria etc will sell complete systems cheaper than high street chains.0
