    Hey Verbatim. I wish!

6 months ago was my lightbulb moment (I was looking at consolidation again but stumbled across this site thank god) but I have been paying off the debts for MUCH longer than that. It's more like 14K in 13 months so not dissimilar to some other's progress on here.

Sorry fishy, hijacking your thread again. I miss my diary! Plus, you've been working so hard, don't beat yourself up about not bein 100% DFW. Get this Saturday out of the way and then take some time to rest and refocus. ((((hugs))))

  • Well pepys, its the 20th & having just checked the old bank account, definately time to get back on track! Am on call this w/e so will use the time to get finances tracked again & the spending diary (probably the best weapon in my debt fighting armory) is back! So here I go again! Back on track & in control....anyone want to join in!! We've all been a bit too quiet recently & suspect that, like children who suddenly go quiet when up to mischief, that this is not a good sign! Am I right?!!

  • Ok pepys (anyone there still!!) just done the balances & feel a bit gutted as was doing SOOOO well with CC's (down to 1700 at one point) but with weddings, car crashes and allotments its crept up again. Also examining my debt "log" reminded me that the loans are likely to be with me until 2012 & 2014 respectively which I had selectively forgotten!! Bit depressing really BUT have paid off quite a bit & had I not had lightbulb would prob be in a terrible state by now so definate positives! Having recommenced the debt diary also feel relieved that I have because I know where I am and loosing track felt quite unsettling and could feel my self getting the old shopping urges again! Had a good weekend cooking (soup, so easy but dropped my blender on my head which hurt!!) & on call so earning extra dosh! House lovely & tidy & have had my first sucessful seed growth with the cactus appearing which is v. exciting!! How u all doing...anyone there...!!

Hi, there been reading your diary but don't think I've commented before

We've just had the same thing, you think you're getting ahead and then find a loan which won't allow overpayments
Our plan is to start saving the extra we would make as an overpayment into a savings account (mine, mum doesn't trust herself :rotfl:) which when there is enough we will use to pay it off early.

Somethings just have to go on CC's along the way, it can't be helped, cars especially. Head up and keep going

  • Hey Gemmzi! Frustrating the loans isnt it! Bet like me you're kicking yourself! I am with teh ridiculous terms I went for !! Landed until 2014...Mol ..hehe...I'm loosing the plot! LOL!! No seriously I am - or rather transferring to a new one so currently on the waiting list (see blog). A bit gutting as the otherw as coming along nicely but the right decision to make! So Mol do you want to start the fishy 1000 challenge?!! Abyine else want to join in? All welcome. My finances updated and sums for Sept are 258 of CC's this month (not included loan payments as that is a total of 658!!)...are you up for it?!! Am close to getting below the 30,000 mark (1800 above it!) so feel inspired!!
