I am really starting to think that debt is very common amongst us social workers.

Agree with you cjmm!! Did you see spendaholics the other day? She was a SW & had gone compleatly loopy with money! Hope she sorted it! I do think that because we give out so much in work that shopping gives us an easy way to give back to ourselves without having to speak to anyone!!! Just my theory - shopping worked for me to get those happy vibes!! Now getting them from watching my stuff go up on ebay - current listings at total at £279!!! Keep sending those positive vibes they're obviously working! Must go & pack some stuff up!!

Hi and thanks for those;) ...because of my grade in work Lynz (senior prac) I have to have permission as per LA policy & proceedures & my contract; no compromise/conflict on my role for 2ndary employment & it doesnt bring my profession into disrepute (also had to consider care council registration!)!!! nadnad havent posted my SOA (ever!!) ...a personal choice really as I know that I am getting the cheapest I can on stuff (partly from looking at othere peoples posts!!) & regularly review this...not sure that I could cope with people knowing that much detail about salary, incomings outgoings etc...some will disagree with this but thats just how I feel; while I am happy to be open & honest in all my posts there are limits to what I choose to publish on a forum that can be read by pretty much anyone anywhere!! Feel free to disagree with this approach if you wish...!!!
Just done a batch of cooking..cant belive its midday already & havent even got to old style yet!! Keep advice coming, I do appreciate it....:T

of course its you choice!! it helps some people to post SOA but others have it pretty much sussed and just need encouragement! so heres some encouragement - you're doing really well - keep it up! :T

Ooooohhh, look at you with your shiny new debt diary! I go away for a week and miss all sorts of exciting things.

You just keep it up girl, you're doing fantastically (although I agree that the whole eBay thing can be a bit of a stress). At the rate you're going you'll be debt free LONG before me so I'm going to keep an eye on this one for inspiration and a kick up the backside!

    Go ff! Go ff! :T

Thats awful for you. ebay can be such a rip off. Its happened to me a few times. I sold some beautiful old gardening books and they were worth more than the £5 I got for them and the worse thing was that the guy that bought them haggled and haggled over the postage price until I got confused and charged him £2.70 less than what it came to.

Thanks tes..despite beeing peeved I went & got a FREE cardboard box & spent the same money on carwash, G&T, toothbrush for my mum (15p!), tarte au citroen, nice pud for mum & I (both of us v. tired & grumpy!!) & nice fizzy drink for mum! Much better! In total have sold £400 worth of stuff today which is great...trying to remain positive but feel shattered (on call all w/e & have to stay up till 12 & not good with no sleep!)....was v. prous of myself for not going crazy & getting little treats (all out of budget anyway!!) rather than going wild like I used to...
