    Hi all,

Yog & cereal for brekkie & snack mid am (I think an essential for me!)...prob going to have chicken for tea - tomorrow will be batch cooking (chilli in various guises & couple of chicken dishes) but really fancy a rice dish & kebab!! How you all doing?

  • I just wanna say I have been following yours and Mol's diaries and find it very motivating. On a bad day when you need some money saving inspiration a quick look on here makes me feel so much better. I can't believe how much I've changed over the past year or so and in January my total debt was £9700! (due to new car amongst other things) I have since been paying lots off and being sooo good I'm surprising myself. Paying good amounts off cc each month and because I'm being so good during the month Ive always got money left at the end of the month to pay a little bit extra off. Just got a nice cheque for £2500 from an insurance policy which will be used to pay a chunk off cc and then some into savings too. Also got shares from work to come so by my holiday in september total debt will be down to about £4k!!!!! Feel bad cos I think if I wasn't in debt then that money could have been used for other things but I wanna do what I can to get out of debt so every little is helping. I don't know you guys but it really helps to catch up with what your doing and how your doing.

Good luck on the weight loss. If it helps I read somewhere that if your sorting out 1 aspect of your life i.e. money then it rubs off on other ares i.e.diets so hopefully it'll help. I certainly find I dont wanna waste my money on take aways so hardly have them anymore..... and its cheap to eat healthily thats gotta help!

Thanks for cheering me up and motivating me to be DEBT FREE!

Aww supersaver thanks SOOOO much, its lovely to know that the hard slog is encouraging other people! It does have a knock on effect on other areas of life as feel more "sorted" than I did before & also much more relaxed & not stressing so much about money but hav eto be careful not to get complacent!! Still get those "shopping surges" where I get the "I must have this (usually something pointless & expensive!) now feeling" whih I have to resist hard (MP3 player being an example!!).
Well done you too on your efforts! Totally agree on the take away thing - I didnt use to think about paying 11 on a take away, which I would never eat so would end up chucking away 6 worth!! Tonight made honey lemon chicken which felt like a take away!! Homemade recipe which goes as follows...chop chiken into chunks, chop up colorful veggies of your choice (i had mushroom & yellow pepper), use fry light & fry up, cooking rice meanwhile. Then when chicken & veggies done add in some lemon juice & honey, mix for a few mins, add rice..eat & free the remaining portion! Was yum if I dont say so myself!! Only took 20 mins! Not sure how my fellow dieters are doing...no doubt all in the sun!! Keep up the good work!

    Hello! :hello: I'm here!

Have been away all weekend (OH's folks who cooked a lovely barbeque) and was out doing my first mystery shop so not entirely sure how I am doing. My will power did not hold out unfortunately!

I shall weigh myself tomorrow morning and update you all on my progress. But.... I've not had any junk food since starting this with you guys and so I am VERY pleased with myself. Planning to swim tomorrow but I'll let you know how that all goes!! PM me your progress ladies and I'll get cracking on that graph (haven't had a chance yet, sorry ladies )

Hey fishy, well done on the batch cooking - I actually like doing it. Mind I usually have a small child wandering around wanting to be picked up every 2 minutes, so it's a long process....
This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

  • Hey everyone,

I was definitely in the sun this weekend - and I think my brain got fried too!

I have not been a very good Weebler this weekend and have succumbed to ice cream and more and have not been counting my points - oo-eer!

Not an excuse, I know but I started my eating heathy last Monday then went to WW on Wednesday night so by then time it got to the weekend I felt like I needed a treat. Am very mad with myself and ashamed - please don't shout at me!

I had a lovely weekend though and did some much needed relaxing and catching up with friends. I was invited to a BBQ on Sat night on a friend's houseboat on the canal in Edinburgh - lots of free food - had a link sausage roll and a burger roll and some cous cous. Then we hosted a BBQ for OH's parents yesterday and we had pasta salad (low fat), salad but also had another burger roll and link sausage roll. Grrrr. Add that to the ice cream and you can see why I'm so peeved with myself.

Why, oh why is it so hard to diet in the sunshine? Can't believe I've slipped in my first week - knew I should be writing down what I'm eating .

Expecting bad news at WW on Wednesday but have pulled up my socks today and have only had a raw carrot (not very hungry!). So onwards and upwards I go.

Good luck to everyone. How are Mol and El getting on?

Mol - I will email you my weight difference on Wednesday evening (expecting to stay the same/a gain). Thanks so much for doing the graph - I really appreciate it!

    Hey ladies.

Well I weighed in this morning (in front of my worst critic - i.e. Me!!). And..... I am now 12st 2lbs. Much of that is probably water retention though!!

I know what you mean about dieting and summer time though SS. Quite a lot of the time when it is this hot I just forget to eat but when there's a barbeque happening I can't resist all the picky bits of food. I went back for seconds at the weekend but it was all good for me and VERY delicious!

Don't beat yourself up about one slip though SS, it's much like the advice you all give to me about falling off the not spending wagon. Just dust yourself down and start again. Much better than just saying "oh, to hell with it all" and helping yourself to an extra cornetto.

Right then ladies. I've managed a graph and a table (including percentage weight loss for those 10% goals they like to encourage you towards in WW). I was hoping to pop the graph up on here but am really struggling with the size of the file (it's a bitmap which makes it VERY big in terms of MBs) but to post it on here it has to be reduced and this is the best I could do....

Hmmmmm, how to sort this one out......
