thanks pf! Ali we went to Ichmiler, just down the road from Marmaris. Managed on about 200 each (incl duty free) & had supermarket shop but food in apts was so cheap that you could have english brekkie for £1!! Go to lots of agents for trips - tey give you free drinks! Drink gallons of wanter but not from tap! Haggle at markets, they love it & you get stuff dead cheap - I got a row of elephants for 2.50 - reduced from 13!! Get books in advance (I left too late & had to uy some, albeit bogo1/2 price). Take sprite (from supermarket) on days out as well as munchies. Take suntan lotion & use high factor - I have olive skin & used f25-15 & stayed out of sun for 2 days as too hot - got to 120 one day!! Still got a decent tan tho! Sit back, relax & enjoy! Afternoon kip also fab!! Ohh yes, watch out for the advances of Turkish men! Despite being a weeble got chatted up alot! Like I would with my mother next to me eh!! That didnt seem to put them off!! People generally really friendly, helpful & go out of their way to help! Couldnt fault them!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! fishface-69 wrote:hi ss! Would love to do a you & me challenge!! Not very good at huge groups (in person or in cyberspace!!). What shall we do?!! I a loathe to do "diet" as they never work for me (the rebel in me being told what to do me thinks!!) but did debate Tesco diet.com as apparently they do shopping list for you! Will have a peek later (off to sleep now for a bit as poopyness catching up on me!!) & you do same & we'll meet up later if thats OK?!! Love your new avatar by the way! Have you rael all Sophie Kinsellas?!! I used to PMSL at the books but the first was def the best by a longshot!! Speak in a bit!fishface-69 wrote:SS..dont mind you feeling jealous of hol as can wholly understand it but would it help to know that it meant the worst flights ever, sitting on concrete floor for 5 hours etc...prob not but worth a try! Just think when we're debt free we'll all be able to buy our own hols (mum paid for mine!) & SAVE for them!! Looked at Tesco diet & quite expensive. Unsure what your situation is & best way to do it! Mine is 5 ft nowt, single, want to loose loads (weigh about 14 7 on my scales so 10 stone even would be good!! - or even 14 for that!!)...feel very weeblish & this was confirmed by sylph like women in bikinis & not a ounch of cellulite on their g string bikini clad bottoms. Yes girls I did have !!!!!! envy on holiday! Along with boat envy as we on our jam packed boat passed a gleaming gin palace containing 1 scantility clad woman streatched out on deck!! Cow! Anyone got any spare loaded men about? Anyhooo...I have loads of diet cook books (Gilliam McKeaith alo I cant stand her, ww etc) so how about swapping recipes & a weekly weigh in, day to be agreed? I was meant to see my woman at the gym today but postponsed till Tues as feel tired fuzzy so didnt want to drive...let me know what you want to do & feel free to Pm me if you dont want to post weight etc publically!
Hi fishface!
Sorry I didn't catch this yesterday - I was too busy drinking g&ts last night (I know I'm very naughty!) and watching Big Bro (so sorry to see Nikki out - I've found her so entertaining!)
Anyway - I'm planning on going to Rose Conely this Monday night with a friend of mine - but would love to do a diet challenge with you as well - both at the same time - the more motivators, the better! Plus planning to do a shopping challenge with jessica/elatan/lynz (more info in elatan's diary thread) - there's nothing I like more than a challenge/something to aim for! I know I should be losing weight without going to Rose - but I have been trying for months to fly solo and I just have NO willpower and like the idea that its an exercise class too.
I am very weeblish - I am about 5' 2" and about 16/17 stone so drastically need to lose lots of pounds - and feel so uncomfortable, especially in this heat as I have to cover up. I would probably rather post publically as this will shame me into doing it properly and give me extra motivation - but if you'd rather do it via PM - just let me know!
I'd like to lose weight so that when we start to plan our wedding (prob in 2008), I can not worry about flabby bits and just look sylph like and beautiful in my (probably from eBay!) dress! That's my big motivator. I also like to have wee motivators along the way - such as when I've lost a stone, I can do this...-however these normally involve spending money - anyone any suggestions about fun, cheap 'lost a stone' things to do/aim for?
A friend of mine did Guardian diets which is the same as Tesco diets - she did really well and looks fab - but it was a bit bizarre - broad bean pasta and weird, not nice things - however she is veggie - might be a few more options if you eat meat?
So my weigh in day will be a Monday evening - starting Monday 17th July - how is this day for you? Totally happy to swap receipes and have chats everyday via email or on here - its so lovely to know that someone is rooting for you and helping you.
Hope this is all okay with you - feel a bit of a fraud for going to Rose - but am about done trying to do it myself and just want that push.

P.S. I LOVE Sophie Kinsella - I have read all her books and reread them constantly - I think I'd like to BE Becky Bloomwood (mmmm Luke...) but also loved Emma in Can you keep a secret? and loved Undomestic Goddess book too - surely there must be a new one out soon? I'll get it at the library, I promise!

Hi SS!! LOL as too was drinking G&T & watching BB!!! Despite being v. good & only having 1 feel quite hungover today which is a bummer!! Have to say that I worry about Nicky's mental health but agree that the tantrums were hilariuos!! Just like a 3 yr old in a womans body but as she said to Davina she needs to sort it!! Sounds like we are a sim size then! Let me know how you get on with RC - I've been before but always fail after week 1!! She is very good though at quick weight loss plus you get the excercise class...no shame in going - its money well spent so please dont feel you need to make excuses to me!! I may join you - do you know if there are any freebie vouchers anywhere that I can get? Will investigate & see if I can get a Mon class too as would be good to follow same plan & day...I must loose weight as it really dents my self esteem & I am in constant pain with my back which is expensive - ie had to book a massage for tomorrow (£40 which I do have!! Amazing that I have £100 in my account & its pay day this week!!) as pain is getting unmanageable & I resent having to pay for massages, osteopaths etc but really have no choice. I also only 36 & feel as fit as a 90 year old!! Also loathe my tummy which has an apron which I can literally pick up & drop which is TOTALLY gross..also got a tan line at the groin roll...umm yummy!!.yuck yuck yuck! Time to take control & I do feel that now is the time - partly down to DFW ways - if I can do that I can do anything!! I just got a freebie wilkinsons legs DVD that I got with my new razor - would you like it? WOuld be happy to post up to you - pm me your real name & address if you want to. I never use them as feel stupid excercising in the house (but being a good DFW thought someone would want it & its free & we like free!!) but have my gym woman (seeing her Tues)...Have been a v. good DFW this morning & cleaned the house, still doing washing & have done surveys etc...will pop to Tesco later and see of there is a mag - they have good recipes in & dont want to big shop yet as will get the wrong stuff! Also have stuff in freezer I want to eat up this week (debated chucking it but was a good DFW & Will eat the dregs but hate it when its at the nearly empty stage!!)..will look out the shopping challange as was going to do it last month but didnt as on hol...ooo feel all motivated & great to have my own buddy to de-weeble myself with!! Onwards & upwards we go!! Are we allowed to plan in an incentive (other than being lucious babes of course!!) ...Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Hey beautiful!fishface-69 wrote:I worry about Nicky's mental health but agree that the tantrums were hilariuos!! Just like a 3 yr old in a womans body
I soooo disagree - that is not a woman's body - more like a boy's with fake boobs! Ha ha! I asked my OH if he thought she was sexy and he said no but he would 'do' Imogen if she didn't call him 'babe' (how annoying is that babe thing?!) Ha ha! I don't care!fishface-69 wrote:Let me know how you get on with RC - I've been before but always fail after week 1!! Yay! Here is voucher for free first class http://www.rosemary-conley.co.uk/apps/content/page.asp?itemID=790 - should be able to find a local class by looking here too.
Membership is £10 so week one will be £10, then week two £5, week three £5 and so on. Would be fabby if you wanted to do Rose too but whatever suits you is good - just knowing that someone is there looking out for you and interested in hearing successes/failures is great! May also post you my measurements and photo so you can compare/contrast when I am a slim babe!fishface-69 wrote:Have been a v. good DFW this morning & cleaned the house, still doing washing & have done surveys etc.
You are so putting me to shame - I am having a very lazy day today after a very busy couple of weeks - still in my dressing gown - just about to go and get organised and go into town - via Ikea - need some glass (I do glass painting wedding favours etc. and sell it on eBay). Need to stay focussed and not buy more than just glass! Then over to my friend's for last blow-out dinner and wine (mmm think we are having mushroom risotto)! Staying over as I live out of town and want to have a few so if I won't be back on until afternoon tomorrow - just in case you think I'm ignoring you and being horrible! Will be back on tomorrow toute suite once I'm home as its goals day - I don't think I've missed one yet - I love my DFW goals - another challenge you see!fishface-69 wrote:I just got a freebie wilkinsons legs DVD that I got with my new razor - would you like it?
I would love to say yes to this as its a very kind offer - but unforunately I know my capacity and enthusiasm for exercise is currently zero and it would sit in a corner getting dusty and making me feel guilty! Maybe someone else would like it on DFW? Thank you so much for the offer! Will PM you my real name, personal info and email address so I am more like a real person to you anyway!fishface-69 wrote:Onwards & upwards we go!! Are we allowed to plan in an incentive (other than being lucious babes of course!!) ...
Definitely allowed an incentive for each 1/2 stone or stone - what works for you? In the past I have put £5 in a jar per lb - but if I lose a couple of lbs a week (as I hope to) I'll be too skint! How about putting £2 in a jar per lb then we could buy a new bag/top etc at every half stone or stone? Or if that is too expensive/doesn't work for you - we could think of something else?
You made me laugh with your talk of rolling your flabby bits - I do that ALL the time - my favourite pastime is poking them, particularly my tummy! I have made a list of all the BIG and SMALL reasons I want to lose weight - its really inspired me like:-
I want to be beautiful, look slim and be able to wear a pretty dress on my wedding day
I want to be able to shop in 'normal' person clothes shops and not wear tents
Less wide feet and can get shoes to fit
I will feel more confident to be able to apply for jobs - people will see me and not size
Have fun at your massage - speak to you tomorrow - have a lovely weekend. Thanks for being my deweeble buddy!

Should have read the post before the PM!! Feel free to email pic...will find a recent one of me & do the same! (eek!!) Am happy with reward after a stone! (1/2 stone a bit quick me thinks as we'll have to SAVE for them!! lol). I dont roll my flabby bits & loathe them & want them to go, just cant stand the fact that I can roll the rolls!!!! Ta for the ink...will have a peek & see whether there is one in the mag & print off if there isnt (saving ink!!) ...off to chill now...feeling pooped after my numerous DFW efforts - altho do want to hoover!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Yay! She's back! We missed you hun!
Sounds like your holiday was just the tonic you needed! You're right, of course, as you always said to me it's those treats and goals that keep you going!
Well done on the losing weight challenge as well FF and SS. I too am in desperate need of shifting a few stone (currently at 12st 4lb and am 5' 2" - the heaviest I have ever been). I used to do weight watchers but can't justify £5 a week for the priviledge of being humiliated and tutted at in public! I've seen other posts on here where they are putting £5 per week into a pot as their "membership fee" and going it alone. When they reach their goals they use whatever is in the pot as a nice non fattening treat. I might just give that a go. I did try asking the OH to be my weight monitor but he just says I look beautiful whatever size. Lovely I know but not very motivating!!
Right, must get on with some work. Good to see you back hun xxDebt Free Nerd No. 89, LBM: April 2006, Debt at highest (Sept 05): £40,939.96

Hello Mol, Was getting worried about you!! SS has decided to abandon rose in preferece to ww so in the vein of doing the same thing am happy to change!! (was slightly relieved having looked at the book which has sooooo many veg/fruit choices!!) Why dont you join us Mol? While £5 is alot DFW style I realised while on hol that while I love DFW I need to see real people so this is a good way to meet new people while shifting ibs. If the woman tutted then you have the wrong woman so why not try a new class...link for ones near you is here. There's also a free voucher is you d o decide to go...would be lovely to have you join us & we can all support each other!!http://www.weightwatchers.co.uk/util/gmf/gmf_index.aspx
Had to laugh Mol as for some reason I imagined you tall!! WHile you are in relation to me (5 ft nowt weeble) I thought you would be 5'9 for some reason - dont ask me why I have NO idea!! How ovely of Oh to say you're beautiful even when you feel otherwise...if only he'd get his lightbulb he'd be perfect!!
Todays news is that I have had a bad DFW day (didnt make lunch) but have ordered my ring from granny's money (currently winging its way to my account). Slight disaster in that the price had gone up 750 but now having it made in white gold so slightly over budget...also went to dentist - owwww! Major back filling & tooth hurts like mad - he always does 2 injections cos I'm such a wuss (he had to do 3 once!!)...didnt pass out though, much to both our relief!! Major hot here & must iron my linen stuff as just too hot for normal worky stuff (usually nylon)..was dripping today which was gross!! Anyway off to check mail!! Catch up later ...go on Mol come & be a weeble weight watcher with me & SS!!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0 -
PS not sayin you're a weeble Mol...SS & I are self confessed weebles!! You're so much thinner than me...does that make you a weebette?!!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0

Yay - come and join us Mol! I'd love to be your weight - about 4/5 stone til then but if you do want to do it, you are welcome to join in!
We're going to chat on messenger and share recipes etc and still post on here so anyone (if they are interested) can see how we are getting on!
Your OH sound lovely - my OH would only say that if I kicked him in the b*ll***s first and made him say it - ha ha!
