I'm worried and scared !

Hi, this if my first post to this forum.
My partner and I have spent beyond our means, although I have to say we don't have much to show for it, just more going out than coming in. He was recently out of work for 4 months which has now spiralled into huge debt problems. We have two small children and I am so worried about losing our family home, although we are up to date with our mortgage.
We have applied for an IVA and are up to the stage of a Meeting of Creditors on the 6th June. I don't answer the phone anymore and the mail is piling up, it's a horrible existence.
I am really scared that the IVA won't go through. What would be our options if it doesn't go through ? Any advice/help would be very welcomed and much appreciated. Thank you.

Hi easypeasy,
Can't help much on the IVA, but someone will I'm sure. Just wanted to say welcome and well done for applying for the IVA and coming on here to try to sort it all out.

Thank you Sea, it's nice to know people give a dam about your problems. This seems like a great site with loads of information. I am doing my best to get better with money and watching all the pennies. Thanks again. xx0

Sorry bout situation its so easy to slip backwards eh You could also try "consumeractiongroup" for help and support,I also susspect a lot of trouble has come from charges ? You could also have a look at "bankchargeshell" and "penaltycharges" Hope all gets bit more tolerable for you sending a virtual hug for you

Try to remember all they can take is material things you will still have a family who love you. I'm sure it's feels like it will never end but it will give you kids a big hug. All the positive thoughts coming from here will help. Hugs.Barclaycard 3800

Thanks everyone, I have been beside myself with worry lately. I am so grumpy and miserable and feel like there is nothing to look forward to. We haven't been able to afford a holiday for years, and I feel so bad for the children. I feel guilty and dam right stupid basically. I used to spend £100 a week grocery shopping ... on what ? I have no idea. I now spend around £48 a week and we do not go without anything ... absolutely crazy. I think I am going to drive my boys crazy about saving money as they grow a bit older !0

I have two boys aged 6 and 3. That's a good idea about the videos and games. Thank you.0
