Eggwhite omelette

I keep reading that Americans eat eggwhite omelettes as they contain no cholestrol. Does anyone have a recipe for this or do you just make it in the same way as a whole egg omelette?

Although I don't have a recipe for this, something in the recesses of my mind is coming up with whisking the egg whites until they form soft peaks (kind of like meringue), and then would imagine that you put into omelette pan - possibly you would have to finish off under the grill. Does that sound of any help at all?0

We tried egg white omelettes a few months ago, i think we did whisk them a little first. They tasted absolutely disgusting!some people grin and bear it, others smile and do it0

I do 1 whole egg and 2 egg whites - (I then put the other 2 yolks into hubby's omlette), and it tastes ok. If you want the rainbow, you've gotta put up with the rain :hello:0

No cholestrol and no taste! Unless you actually have a problem with high cholestrol I wouldn't bother.0

Hi lolly - I tried egg white omelettes and didn't find them totally inspiring, but here's my preferred option. I bought a cheap egg poacher from Asda and just do my whites in that instead. It's got room for four eggs so I usually do two eggs and then half a tomato in each of the other two "dishes". Pile the lot on top of some rye bread and top with black pepper. Delish! What if the hokey cokey is what it's all about? :eek:Official "Bring back Mark and Lard NOW! or else (please)" Member 160 -

That sounds interesting - I'll give it a go.0
