IPA 'file closed'?

Hi all,

Hubby had an IPA but just about a month before AD, he got in touch with our OR to explain our joint income would decrease from September due to my being forced to take fewer hours at work. OR asked him to complete an IPOQ and then confirmed he could cease payments to Moonbeever (we presumed the IPA was suspended).

Moonbeever then wrote to ask for hubby to complete an IPAQ. He called to say he'd already done this for the OR. Moonbeever said they'd liaise with OR. This was 3 weeks ago and no word.

Hubby called Moonbeever today who said they hadn't yet spoken to OR but would do. They called hubby back to say they've spoken to our OR who has confirmed they can 'close the file'. (Finally got to the point after all the waffle-sorry!)

What does this mean? Any ideas?

Thanks!

  • I would assume no news is good news BUT a phonecall to the OR's office wont hurt to double check...

    Thanks Phil,

The OR says Moonbeever can 'close the file' but we're unsure what that means.

thats basically it....they will close the file & no further contact will be made (when is AD due?) probably now not worth their while suspending the IPA just in case your surplus would increase....thats basically the end of the IPA with the sound of things

    Hi again Phil,

Thanks again for taking the time to reply-I really appreciate it.

We informed OR a month or so prior to AD and we've now been discharged for a couple of weeks. Moonbeever contacted us just before AD and today Moonbeever got hold of the OR who said to 'close the file'.

We really assumed the IPA would just be suspended as it was still in place by AD, but do you think this sounds like it could be finished completely?
