Money saving meals when on self-catering holiday

:hello: Can anyone suggest some quick and easy meals for when we're on holiday?
I've been able to keep some of the child benefit in a savings account so we can afford a 2 week self catering break this year so the little ones can go to the seaside. In the past when it was just me and the OH we had a lot of take-aways and meals out when on holiday. Obviously we can't afford to do that and I wouldn't really want to feed the little ones take-aways too often.
The main problem is if we're out all day we don't want to put too much time and effort into cooking when we get back - any ideas anybody? Also do you have any good veggie ideas as my sister, who is a vegetarian, may be there for a few days (extra cost cutting as she has paid some towards the accomodation)
Thanks.:A

a slow cooker might be a good idea to take with you as you could put the meal in before you go and it would be ready when you get home, someone else will be able to give you recipes i am sure as i gave mine to ds1 and dw as they both work0

When we've gone self-catering, we've taken a frozen chilli, spag bol, lasagne, veggie lasagne.................... And eaten out on a couple of occasions. Twink, Vicky, Linda - thanks for all the good ideas and the link, taking the SC might not be such a bad idea. I thought it may take up too much room in the car but having read through the link I picked up the idea of getting Tesco's to deliver to our jolliday accomodation so they'll be room in the car for the SC! :rotfl:
I sure do miss the thanks button!"all endings are also beginnings. We just don't know it at the time..."0
