Northern Rock gave us a list of requirements to hand our house back without signing liability form - bearing in mind my new found 'I will fight those in the know, I am in charge and will provide what I see fit, no one tells me what to do!' attitude  I don't see why I have to provide some things what they require.
They want:
A letter with the words voluntary surrender on it
a new address
a new telephone number
date the property empty and the date signed
the letter signed
copies of our driving licence
Here's my letter:
Vouluntary surrender of property at:
43 *****
C******
C********
**** **Q
22nd September 2009
To Whom It May Concern
We wish to voluntary surrender the above property which is mortgaged by Northern Rock.
The property is empty from 22nd September 2009
Our new address is:
7 ********
T*******
T*******
*******A
D**** & MICHELLE H********
You'll see I havn't given them our new phone number _ they have DH's mobile anyway (idiot!)
I have not signed the date it was empty nor have I signed the letter at all.
I will not be sending our copies of our driving licence either.
What do you think? In the words of Goldilocks "too little, too much or just right?"
