    hhhmmmm, couldn't decide whether i liked the story or not.

    I am a bit afraid of the "It has the quality mark so it'll be fine and guaranteed to pay out a good retirement whatever I put in" approach people may have.

    I'm 28 and hated last weeks thinking about pensions and saving up I had to do and I've got at least 3 so far built up from this and previous jobs.

    I can see how much extra I need to start to find to pay in for the next 40ish years to get a yearly payout of 1/2 my current salary.

    Anyone remember the cat-standard 'kitemark' for mortgages - amongst the qualifying criteria was a variable rate within 1% of BoE!

    CAT standards revamped - and they never took off. CAT standard mortgages had negligible take up also.
