Went to the reg office today and provisionally booked our date for next year, we've changed to the 2nd October instead of the 1st. The 2nd is a Saturday so i'm really happy about that!
Don't know if anyone remembers my thread about whether to get married at the holiday inn, or go the reg office then to a social club afterwards??
We'll we're not doing either of those now lol, we getting married here and having the reception/evening here too :

All sorted, all booked, just need to shoot to the reg office on the 2nd Oct with all our paperwork and fee.
I'm so bloody glad that's sorted, it was stressing me out soooo much!

Hell yeah! The room we would have had in the holiday inn, we would have been packed in like sardines, plus we would have got married in that room, had the wedding breakfast in that room, then had the night do in there too?! With room charges for the ceremony, a charge for a bigger room and drinks for the meal, it was coming in at around £3K.
With the village, it's coming in at half of that! We're not having a wedding breakfast now, which i'm happy about actually (i don't want anything formal), so instead we're going to come down after we get married and they are going to close the conservatory off just for us while we have drinks and canapes (40 invited to the day), then we'll go down to the evening do with everything we actually want for the buffet (rather than getting a serving of lasagne with the holiday inn ) We're having 120 for the night too, whereas the package at holiday inn was only for 70. (Unless you want to spend even more)
The hotel is only 10 minutes away from were we live and is central for everyone coming.
I'm really excited about it now!

Oh plus the Village have their own chair covers too.
We only need them for the ceremony, but it's still gonna save us spending out!

Yay shellsuit, well done!
I've heard very good reports of functions at the Village and I've been to some business stuff there and was very well looked after.
Which registry office are you getting married at?
My wedding reception was at the Lobol club (which was just over the road from the Village, it's a car showroom now) and we drove from the church in Tranmere in an open top car, what an experience! lol.
I'll bet you're so happy, it sounds so much better. Have a lovely day! xxx0 -

Hiya Sal, you must be very local to me then? We're in Beb by the Oval.
We're getting married in the Village too now. Bhead and Wallasey town hall only marry upto 12.30 on a Saturday which is way too early for us!
That's the only thing we're gutted about really, because everything will be done in the Village, we won't have that drive to the reception with just us 2 in the car, but we can't have everything lol! (Least i still get to go there in a nice car

Hi Mini!
Hope your daughter has as much fun planning her wedding as I'm having!
Keep us updated with her progress too if that's OK? (I might be able to pick up some tips from her/you
lol)
388 days to go! (Not that I'm counting

I certainly will let you all know, at the minute very early stages, she's booked the venue and the registrar and she's getting married in the hotel.
we're off to the wedding fair in Glasgow on the 19th Sept so should get loads of ideas there...and hopefully some freebies
I've picked up a few good ideas on this thread too. She's looking into the chinese lanterns though a bit unsure about that and I'll definitely be suggesting a sweetie table, I think thats a really good idea......not many children will be going so it's totally for the adults :rotfl:cheerio hen0 -

Ahh, hope you have lots of fun at the wedding fair!
I daren't go to any, I already have my dress and shoes and have ideas in my head for everything else, but I know if I went to one, I'd want to spend lots and lots of ££££££'s :rotfl:
We've got a family holiday next July which is costing 4K, so we have to stick to a strict budget for the wedding.
We're going to have a sweetie table now instead of a chocolate fountain, I've got 3 children (13, 11, and 4 months today!) and there will be one more baby at the wedding who will be 7 months, so the table will definitely be for the adults too!
