I was just about to post that!! Remember that coming up on my dd's and thinking 'what the hell is that!'
T-mobile its for, they did the same to me. I didn't ask for it, and I'm sure I didn't sign anything to say I wanted it, but it was obviously in a bit of small print I missed in my less eagle eyed days.
I wondered whether I had to ring or anything but in the end just cancelled it and nobody has ever chased it up, so no harm no foul!1st LBM (Pre-Career Change): 01 March 2006 Debt Free Date: 28 April 2008 | Worst Debt: £7244.36

Doesn't matter if you did say no apparently. My dp had a contract ticked the box to say no insurance but 3 months later they set up a direct debit on his account and tried to take the cash for it, I even saw his contract definitely saying no to insurance.
Might be worth digging out the contract and claiming the money back for it

?Countrywide, this rings a bell. My mortgage is with Nationwide and I have a vague recollection that Countrywide are either surveyors, or buidings insurers etc.
Could be wrong though.
But if you are with Nationwide then this might be that?

my mortage is with Halifax but was sorted out via Countrywide. My original contents insurance was with AXA through Countrywide which is why i think they haven't cancelled it.. I can remember cancelling it clearly enough though as the conversation went something like..
so why don't you want to renew?
Because i want accidental damage cover but you don't do it for contents only. I can have it with buildings and contents insurance but i can't have building insurance as i'm shared ownership. Which is a pretty difficult conversation to forget.0 -
just looked at reducing Sky and all the packages and all the ones i watch keep the price the same
going to go on a mad cancellation spree and and cancel loads of DD's. Especially the ones i don't know. Kill the phone contracts, the £4.99 insurance one, cancel the gym.. Give myself an extra £100 a month.
Getting another lodger is a difficult one. I could do with the money but my lodger now is only here monday evening to friday which suits me fine as i'm having a bit of a fling with a girl i work with. If i get another lodger from work then it could mess that up..
Got a works night out on Friday, we got 4 numbers on the lottery this week so it's £98 quid between about £15 of us plus anything else we've already won and got in the kitty so that'll make Friday almost free.0 -

Not 100% what you mean by this bit confused
Im in SO, and have buildings & contents with accidental damage with the CIS. Also covers me for lodgers which not many do, and that is about 45 for both PCM. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

I'm a bit lazy about using up my change, but every so often my purse gets so full I go on a mission to try to pay for everything with the exact money, and it is amazing how much longer £20 lasts if you actually spend the coins as well. Have you had a count up to see how much cash you have in the house - it might be a nice surprise!! and if it is a decent amount, you could get it back into the bank and working a bit harder for you.0 -
Have you found out what those two DD's are for a month yet??
You really can't afford to have money coming out of your account for unknown things maybe they are pointless old DD's that should have been canx. Check them out. - you know one of them is a mobile phone insurance company now from others (do you need this - is it covered on your household policy?)Current Mortgage - £156,633:eek:Expecting baby no. one on 27th Oct 20100 -
Lynzpower - The buildings insurance is on a group policy by the Housing Association who owns the other 40%. So out of my £51.22 a month it pays the rent and the buildings insurance so i only need contents.
tyllwyd - I've got about £30 in £1 and £2 coins and just short of £200 in my change bucket. I'm not disciplined enough (yet) to stick it in the bank and let it work for me. It's staying there till July and being cashed in for holiday spends.
Kar - i've never insured a phone ever in 10 years of having one. I can't remember asking for it so it's going to get cancelled. I had too much on last night to find out what the other DD was but the paperwork is coming out tonight.0
