I'd Like to Recommend...

Hello,
I thought it would be nice to have a thread to recommend Old Style or low price/own brand products to other forum users, which they might not otherwise try.

So, I'll kick off by recommending Tesco's own brand Apple & Aloe Vera shampoo. 750ml for 57p. It's a nice price, a nice colour, smells WONDERFUL and does the job every bit as well as my previous bottle of Aussie Mega Shampoo, which was £3.45 for 300ml [slightly embarassed icon]

  • I recommend Asda smart price red pesto 190g for 88p small jar but it goes a long way would feed 6 stirred in pasta with veg,or stir in bolognese for a different taste
  • Boots 'Essentials' Shampoo/Conditioner (£1.50 for 2 at the moment). It appears to be Pantene, or very much like it.

value tinned new potatoes, great to slice + dice up small into curries etc to bulk it out as they are already peeled, cooked and very quick. i now always keep a tin in the cupboard and get panicky (sp? :o:confused:) if i haven`t got any.

tesco value cat litter, £1.16 for 10 L. much better quality, finer and more in bag (and a nicer colour) than morrisons or sainsburys.
Sainsburys value fabric conditioner (not sure how much but a lot cheaper than the posh ones)
  • morrisons value chocolate - ok so its not the greatest but for 33p its entirely delicious...i'm a bit of a chocolate snob but i happily eat a whole bar of this!

Will second that! It's excellent cat litter, very absorbent and as a bonus it doesn't send up clouds of dust when your kitty starts scratching it around.

asda smart price museli-50p is a fab cereal.not just all oats lots of sultanas i think it is mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
in fact i like lots of the smartprice range. at the moment their tinned tomatoes are nice and in a lovely thick juice-sometimes it is a bit thinner-suppose its about what time of year they harvest toms ie in season or forced

I use these, have about 5 tins in the cupboard!! I'm rubbish for letting potatoes sprout so getting these is better for me :)

I get the value mixed herbs, they do the job...most value stuff I find is just fine really.

Sainsburys basics coleslaw. I LOVE coleslaw and always used to buy the really expensive versions. IMHO this one tastes better!
