Chicken and lentil soup?

Hi, i have finally decided to make some soup using some chicken pieces, a bag of soup lentils and some stock! Well it looks horrid but funnily enough tastes quite nice.
Not sure if im doing it right though! i thought it looked a bit watery so i blended it all together and now it looks a bit thick! (cant win)
Any tips on soup making and how and what to do would be great!
Thank you

Try blending only part of it next time so you have thick liquid and lumpy bits too. Perhaps disguise the colour a little by adding green bits ie. chives on top.0

If you add in carrots it will give it a lovely colour and some finely chopped garlic gives it a nice flavour.
