I work in the NHS too :j are you aware that the NHS is supposed to support you in any course that fits in with your career aspirations, even if not directly relevant to your job?
A few thoughts ... firstly a full spending diary might be a good idea, where is the cash going? How much are you spending on eating out (including lunches) on top of your grocery spends? Secondly if you find it hard to resist shopping, don't carry any money or cards with you or just the bare minimum you need for transport. I also think you might consider completing a full Statement of Affairs - you have missed quite a few things off your list, and lumped bills in together as if they can't be reduced.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
Yeah i know i should be more itemised- i think i'm just too scared!
bills unfortunately have to be lumped in as they're not mine to pay, i rent off a friend who has all the bills in her name so i don't actually know what's what. I will ask her for next time though as i'm sure she wouldn't mind the bills going down. Leaving the cards at home is probably the only way i'm going to stop spending. I've developed such bad habits!
I know theretically the NHS is supposed to support me, but when i asked i was told i won't get the time off to do the course (in fact he laughed at me!) so as it's a new job and i don't want to rock the boat i'm stuffed!
The bag is deffinately going back- stupid idea to buy it in the first place! I know my consumer rights, not fit for the purpose i want a refund not a credit note.

Sorry that's really hard to read it's a copy and paste job.
If i'm honest with myself i spend a little too much on food shopping- i don't use up leftovers as much as i should.
My vices are shoes and clothes and eating out. Comments gratefully recieved.

HI Cookie crunch,
you seem just like me with the debt plans... i have decided that im going to start a diary and keep exact tabs on my spending, im also terrible when i just pop in to town to get lunch and i just happen to pop in to Debenhams... ( its not been there a year in our town yet and i dread to think what ive spent in there!!!
Good luck and i hope it all goes well for you.0 -
Oh, I spend FAR too much on food... so you're not alone there. Especially on eating out - prob once a week... then extra things for dinner as OH doesn't like what's in (he's not a fan of leftovers...drat!). Regarding cutting down on shoes and clothes, the only suggestions that I have is to stay away from the shops. Window shopping only makes me feel miserable... which is no good!Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. sadly this month i did spend £400 on clothes but i didn't spend anything in the last three. When i did a look back at the year it averages £200 a month which i know is far too much. My excuse; 5 years of student life means i hadn't got anything other than jeans and little tops to go out in with the occassional sweatshirt so i had to buy smart work stuff. It's one of the first things i'm going to try to control and i agree window shopping sucks! I end up in Dune and then leave smeary marks on the windows as i drool!Overdraft £67.34/£0 M&S £1500/£0 MBNA £2287 capital one £145/£45 Overdraft loan £786 Bodad £5750 all 0% for the moment!0

Oooh, keep away from those shops! I know it's hard... but, I turn into a crazy hyperactive consumer when I see nice shiny, expensive things. So, I try and now keep away - safer that way. Kinda helps that OH hates shopping trips!
On a positive note, you now have some good things to wear. Hopefully it's <cough> one of those capsule wardrobes - i.e. 3 items of black clothing that can be taken from beach to boardroom - LOL :rotfl:Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do.
