Hi Ev! He's not too bad now, think we are both looking forward to a quiet weekend.

I've never tried the copper tape, might give that a go too - the more slug prevention methods in place the better I reckon.

Ooh popping home to check my post tonight, wonder if my numbers there :D

Yay my half marathon number had arrived, and my one for Race for Life in June.

Had a lovely weekend, great weather, went to farmers market, did some gardening, engaged in slug wars (wow beer traps are effective, the drunken little creatures...), had a wander round town, spent my Debenhams voucher on some underwear.. ate lots of lovely food - I have discovered new likings for Chanterelle mushrooms and Jerusalem artichokes, yum!

Had a bad night's sleep at the thought of work today though - sigh.

    Spending now looks like this:

    £5 - CD
    £2.70 - pair of tights
    £8.62 - supermarket
    £3.10 - lunch in canteen
    £16-ish food
    £1.79 nail varnish
    £37.21

Pretty much yep, although I suppose the nail varnish was a bit of an unnecessary buy - lovely pale blue colour though, and it's called 'Button Moon'! :rotfl:

Mm there is an amazing mushroom stall at the market - £1.20 for a box of Chanterelles which we had with garlic and butter with tagliatelle... drool.... :p

Think I'm going to put £200 aside in my savings account for holiday so I don't touch it - not long to go now - two weeks on Thursday :D

It does feel like ages, especially as we're not going away at Easter now - am looking forward to a nice long weekend at home though, and maybe a couple of days out depending what the weather is like.

The slug traps were so full on Sunday morning - yuck! It's rained overnight though so not sure if they'll be out in force again today. We're due to have snow later this week - SNOW!!!

I have transferred £200 to my savings for the holiday - we have about £50 to pay for the last night's hotel and then just meals etc to pay for - I probably won't need that much but at least it's put aside.

Popped a bit of 'spare change' into my overdraft, which leaves £770 in my current account. £500 rent, £50 phone bill and £4 Lovefilm to come out of that, and £50 other job pay to go in, leaving me with £266. No major spends planned... food, going out for lunch for a colleague's leaving do on Wednesday, could do with a couple of cheap t shirts as I had to throw some out at the weekend (not even fit for gardening! :o)... but can't think of anything else. I must remember that I am a bit better off this month with the backpay and this is not going to be a normal state of affairs!

Slug wars continue.. there was some violent trowel action this morning

The atmosphere at work has calmed down a bit, we're moving offices in a couple of weeks so everyone is focussed on that. The work itself is still boring though - fingers crossed for the interview although I am a bit sceptical as they often have internal candidates who obviously have more internal knowledge. I think I've figured out that my ideal job would have me doing lots of different bits and pieces but I've not found a job like that yet! I am enjoying the second job so far, and I've been doing a bit of online mentoring through a site I found too which is very interesting.

Printed off a couple of knitting patterns for cushion covers which I think will make nice pressies.. talking of which, my colleagues have decided that I'm the 'homely' one in the office because I garden, knit, cook and have been known to make and bring in cakes occasionally - not quite sure how to take that when I'm the second-youngest in here - shouldn't I be the wild vodka-drinking one... oh well :)
