Aw, sorry you've got a cold - but brill to see Gaudi! I went at this time of year too, first week in December - I absolutely loved it, it felt like Liverpool in the sun - same gritty feel, with real docks and real dockers, beautiful buildings, huge sense of pride in who they are. Just wonderful.

  • Right, I have to get my Christmas shopping finished out of this next lot of wages. Should have about £360 left after bills are paid and there's a couple of races I want to enter for next year which come to about £55. Couple of presents still to get, one is about £25 and the other I'm hoping to get with a voucher if said voucher arrives in time for the Debenhams sale this week, otherwise it will be about £15, unless I have any other vouchers I can claim for anywhere (need to check through all the survey sites!) Which leaves me with £265 for the rest of the month... my mum is coming to visit for a few days so need to find a few cheap things to do with her. Don't think I need anything much else during the month apart from a few toiletries (about £10) and obviously some food!

I've not been to Liverpool, but maybe I should if it's similar, loved the feel of the city. So efficient as well, the public transport runs so well, the city is so well laid out, and everything seems to run really smoothly.

Erm..... well, maybe they're similar to a Scouser :D I'm only thinking of the centre. Liverpool's still a fair bit grittier, to be honest. Check out Liverpool's website and go if you like the sound of it - but these are fantastic

The number you can see depends on the state of the tide, and if its all the way out, you can walk out to them. Also, Crosby is far enough away from the centre of Liverpool that you can see the ships coming out of Liverpool's container port at Seaforth - the Mersey itself is deathly quiet these days, but a *lot* of cargo goes through Liverpool. You can see a ship every 15 minutes or so, whether they're going in or out depends on which way the tide is going.

:rotfl:The squirrel reserve is brilliant - such tall trees, with nothing else growing, and running all over the place these little squirrels - some of them are really really dark, others almost as light as Tufty, they're wonderful. If you're patient, they really will eat out of your hand. And they'll know you!

    Thanks Beanie!

Well today I definitely do not have the cold - I may have a completely stuffed up head and a sore throat and achy eyes but I am refusing to have the cold!

Had a really good run last night (6 miles, didn't mean to go that far, just went out and ran!) which helped clear my lungs out but feeling a bit blaaah this morning, will not let it beat me though

Bit annoyed as I have got a couple of Christmas pressie things in the Debenhams sale online - good prices, Quidco cashback and a couple of discount codes work too, but forgot they don't take Electron so have to wait for money to transfer to my other card - should hopefully be there today.. fingers crossed... I have no patience!
