  • Haven't been on here for AGES :o. Have been so busy with uni (I haven't been this tired in years.... fact I have to travel on buses for hours a day doesn't help) haven't had a chance to even really think about money!! :o

Am still waiting to receive student finance, am going to start a new budget when I know exactly how much I'll be getting (they haven't financially assessed me yet so will be getting standard amounts for now)

Right, off to do more work :p

Are you getting the student rates for public transport? From my college we can get a termly pass at half price OR you can get a student photocard from the bus company and get weekly or monthly passes. This seems to vary from area to area and doesn't seem to be at all well advertised.

I am thanks... you obviously know the work load yourself, trying very hard to be organised!

Thanks for the tip Fire Fox. I'm currently getting day tickets but cheap ones that work over two networks (uni in a different county). £3.60 a day but actually worked out cheaper than a weekly one because of the different bus companies. Going to look at student passes when I find out which county my placement will be... spent 5 hours travelling the other day (with waiting times and traffic!) , not good! Not always quite that bad though, although I do have to leave at 6.20 am!

6.20am?! Now that is dedication: you should get an A* for effort. :D

  • Ok, today has not been a very productive day. Had family over so haven't done as much work as I should have.... also had a domino's pizzas, but did have money off tokens, so was half price (£20.00). Did a few hours of uni work yesterday so I think I just needed abit of a rest today :o

Also spent £15 on 4 DVDs

Good news in student finance is sorted! Checked online yesterday afternoon and they have actually assessed me properly and will be getting it next week :T Worked out over the 9 months of my course I'll actually be better off each month than when I was working, and, what with our spending going down we can hopefully get some money behind us now as well as paying off the debts.

    Things to do tomorrow:

I have a day off uni (!) so will be...
    doing lots of work
cook a roast dinner using up potatoes, left over chicken and some veg
ring council tax people about now being a student!

  • Total spending today (so far!) : £13.75 on a few bits from Iceland- should hopefully only have to get a couple more things in the week to last us until the weekend

I found I was better off being a student than working full-time too! For council tax you usually need an exemption certificate from your college/ university.
