Five Years On, I've Done It

Hi,

Don't want to sound like I'm bragging, but I'm so happy I just had to tell someone. For the last five years I have been attepmting to payoff debts that totalled nearly £10,000. And today, I have just made my final outstanding payment on my last debt.
To be fair, there isn't much in my bank account now, and my home may not be full of lovely things, but i never believed in the begining the day would come when I didn't owe someone something by way of a debt, but I'm finally here. And I have the love and support of my family and this site which has pushed me on for the last few months to make it to the end.
So to everyone who is just starting out on the road to being debt free, or those who are finding it hard along the way. PERSEVERE. its so so worth it in the end.
Now the joy of learning how to go about saving up money.

Big hugs to you all,

WOAS.

A HUGE well done to you and for all you have achieved! It is inspiring to see that the debt does disappear after hard work. I have just been updating my debts, and am proud to say that after the 5 years I have been paying off my debts, I am finally under the £20,000 mark, and it is reducing slowly! It means I have also paid of over £10,000 in that time! What a wonderful buzz eh!!!!

Good luck to all who are in the same position!!!

And happy saving to those who are now debt free!

    VERY WELL DONE!!! :j

I know exactly what you mean but it's most definitely worth it! I'm not far away myself (i hope) and can't wait! even if i get into debt again in the near-future (and it's looking likely at the moment), i've become accustomed to my MSE lifestyle. i know it can be done again.

Just think - now those repayments can go into an ISA instead!! 5 years from now you could have £15k in the bank! :T
