Not a no spend day today unfortunately :( thought I was getting a free lunch, but Waitrose wouldn't accept my luncheon vouchers! Will have to try tescos when I do my grocery shop this week. Spent about £5 on lunch and a bit of groceries. Got home to find my landlord's wife had been to do the garden, and had very sweetly left me some gorgeous flowers and a muffin in my office in the garden, what a lovely surprise, very sweet of her! Also had a missed delivery, couldn't think what it was, went to get it and it was a sample to test for they shall not be named research.

Since I got home I've been getting to grips with the daily click stuff Eager Learner emailed me. It's taken me all night though - hope I get quicker!

just as I was going to bed last night, I checked my gmail, and got another Amazon sale, made just over £2. Will be interesting to see how much I manage to make this month, so I know how much to do the £* a day challenge for.

I also think I have money over from last month, but as I get paid weekly I'm going to see what is left over at the start of September, and hit the CC then. Should be able to pay off quite a bit extra though. My petrol is going to go over this month though, as I am going to a friends wedding in Sevenoaks in a couple of weeks (hoping I can drive there and back in a day so as I don't have to pay to stay over anywhere! I've done this before, but not for a while. No doubt the day after will be spent sleeping!

Thank you! And nice to meet you ! Hopefully I'll get some time to read some diaries properly one night and chat properly :-)

Actually accomplished a fair amount at work today, probably because I had my ipod on with one headphone in which made the mundanity much more interesting! Had to get lunch there, but got a meal, so didn't need to eat much when I got home this evening. Not a NSD since had to get petrol as well as lunch, and did a bit of grocery shopping (and stupidly forgot to try and use luncheon vouchers in Teskits - boo). But still, I'm on budget for groceries, currently under budget for petrol, and I think I'll be under budget at the end of the month. Let's see by how much!

Have spent this evening signing up for free scratchcards etc. Did start reading the matched betting thread, but don't think I'd ever manage to get my head round it! I need to print off some threads and read them with a highlighter pen I think! No clicks tonight but did some this morning. No sales today either, ah well, there's always tomorrow!

Hi Raquela - great diary! I love audio-typing as well - I used to work in a solicitor's office and really miss it now I've moved on!
Good luck for your debt-free journey!

  • Hi Raquela, I've been reading your diary with interest. I also love knitting but I'm utterly rubbish at it! I invested in a book (got cashback from quidco of course!) but still haven't found the time to read it! :-(

aah, shame you live in London, if you lived round here, I'd come and teach you! If you need any pointers or advice though, give me a shout!

I was knitting under the desk at work today whilst 'reading' a document, naughty I know, but I was reading it, so wasn't like I wasn't working. Except I wasn't working because nothing I do at that job is working, it's so wierd! I've been there three weeks, and my job is basically a made up job. I have no guidance (yet), no direction, my line manager is barely there, and I think she's waiting to get direction! So I'm basically doing the one job I know I'm supposed to do each day, which depending on how many things are in my inbox can take anything from 30 mins to all morning, and then i'm making up stuff to do which might be useful, but generally isn't! I'm really struggling to fill my day, and I kind of want to say something to someone, but am so grateful to have a job, even if its a made up one, I don't want to rock the boat! I actually was so bored this afternoon that I typed a sudoku puzzle into excel and did that for at least 30 mins! I bet a lot of people would love such a dossy job, but I need to be challenged, and I need to be busy, and this job, whilst I will apparently get busier at some point, will never be any challenge at all! There were two jobs advertised on the internal board today, one of which sounds great, but too little money, the other one sounds ok, but is only 12 months. but as a temp, I'm not allowed to apply for either anyway unless they get advertised externally! I'll just have to repeat 'at least I've got a job' mantra and try and have a word with my line manager over the next couple of days. Unfortunately I think she's still waiting for her job description, dear oh dear - good ain't it?!!!

Since I got home, I've done my free scratchcards; £1 on Littlewoods, 50p on TAB, £20p on Virgin. Not counting TAB into my money made since it's not real money. Oh, I've also had another NSD since I took lunch in and didn't buy any snacks. Might do some clicks but think first thing I'm going to do is get my printer set up in the house (it's in the office in the garden at the moment, which is proving a bit of a pain), plus I want to get some more stuff listed on Amazon. Actually think I'll do that now!
