Hello all, I'm sure most of you wont remember me but at one time long, long ago I was a very regukar poster on here and made some very good virtual friends who offered support encouragement, kind words and also straight talk if the situation needed it.

Was in quite a low point at one time and couldnt see any way out, were not out of the woods yet and im thinkin of posting a fresh SOA to get some advise on, one question tho...me and other half both on salary but also earn commission each month which can fluctuate - whats the best way to budget etc in these circumstances?

Personally I'd take the lowest it's ever been and work off that. Then it can only be more, right?

Then I'd nail a notice to OH's head that says 'I must earn more commission'. And poke him with a sharp stik every now and again. Nt that that will achieve anything, but I find it makes me feel better :)

Glad you're felling better love, let us know how you're getting on. Was wonderin how things were in the Dotty household.
This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

Hey Obi - thanks for that - was thinking ging of the lowest was prob a safer bet but to be honest on a good month we can have an extra 5 or 6 hundred in - me thinks perhaps save and offer some full n final settlements ??

I see from your sig your ebt free now hun? how did you manage that - you were as deep as me at one point? hows the little one? i beleive youve had another sproglet since hun?

I think thats an excellent idea. It might be £500 extra a month, but then again it might not. Go on the lowest, save the extra and then make some offers. You could take an average, but then yyou run the risk of being short if it's a slow month.

I got all my debts on payment plans, with no interest. I closed the shop when a) the council pulled everyone's tenancy to knock the market down, and b) Baby Ash was discovered. I had such a stressy time with Alyx I didn't want to risk it. I sold all the stock on Ebay, and was supposed to be buying a house, but it fell through a few weeks before Ash was born. We had to spend the deposit on finding somewhere to rent, and then the rest cleared my little debts. The biggy loan was written off after I proved to the bank my ex husband had had the money, not me. They agreed under the circumstances to chase him for it. So technially debt free, though I do feel a bit of a cheat.

    How's things with you love?

If you can live in your lowest amount budget, then everything above is a bonus :D

Hope you're feeling less carp. I came here to read your diary after your post in What DFW thing thread.

Welcome back. Plan your budget on the sum you can rely on to come in each month.

Luxuriate in the commission to pay off debts and save a little for contingencies.

    Good luck bh

Hey all, thats what im goin to have to do, go off the lowest we make, budget off that and anything esxtra each month shove in a pot and then decide. Im doing really well at the moment was on a DMP but have gone it alone, the biggie ones are all on payment plans however there are a couple of smaller debs that im wrangling with offers at the moment. Im still trying to get my budgeting skills right, without much luck, have pots at home for certain things and accounts for all sorts but dont seem to get anywhere, need to go back and start again with the minimum bring homes as suggested, if i can pay all bills/debt payments and live then any extra a month can go on savings and/or debt repayments in lump sums. I seem to be really committed one min then fall of the waggon the next.
