saw one here http://www.supercook.co.uk/default.asp or i have one in my fast cakes book by mary berry it is an all in one cake but uses coffee essence but assume you could dissolve coffee granules in hot water, i can give it to you if you want
  • I always use my standard all in one cake mixture:
4 eggs - weigh them (in shells) - use that weight for: marg, caster sugar, SR flour. Bung everything together, beat up. I then dissolve about 3 tsps of instant coffee granules in a bit of boiling water, and add this to the mixture. Divide between 2 sandwich tins, bake at 170c for about 30 mins. I sandwich sponges with coffee butter icing - butter, icing sugar, dissolved coffee again - then add walnuts to the butter icing. Top either with more butter icing or coffee glace icing (same as butter icing but no butter!), and arrange walnuts on top. You could add walnuts to the cake batter before baking, but it can make the finished cake a bit lumpy looking - if you pile the walnuts into the filling it's plenty nutty enough.

Coffee and Walnut cake - Delia Smith style!

We all love this cake in our house, its really moist and delicious. Just make sure to line the cake tins otherwise it does have a tendency to stick. Its not as sweet with the mascarpone and fromage frais topping but you could always put buttercream in the middle and ice the top instead.
