Hi i'm looking to buy my son a PSP for his birthday and i keep coming accross offers. A few companies are offering free PSP's when you sign up to one of their offers and reccommend 5 friends. The other is a mobile phone contract where you get a free PSP. I'm just wandering if anyone has done any of these and if you actually recieve the games console as i am wary of offers like these
thanks

You would probably be best just buying one from ebay or something.
There is no point signing up and paying for offers, or getting a mobile phone contract, because it will probably end up costing you more than actually buying the PSP.
I have had no experience signing up for offers to get the free gift, but I have gone the mobile contract route before, but only because I actually needed a new mobile phone contract.0 -
i would steer clear of the reccomend five friends offers, in my experience it just starts a long chain of junk mail and ive never known anyone to ever recieve one. it quite often requires you to complete more surveys etc and sign up for two or more of the offers which often requires a spend itself. im not presuming all of these offers are the same but the majority are junk. The phone contract offers ook good if your going to need a phone, i looked into the laptop offers a little while ago, but again with these you often end up paying over the top over the duration of the contract, you may just be better off taking out finance unless you were taking out a mobile phone contract anyway.0

if you are thinking of getting a mobile phone contract and want free gifts then i recommend these, very good, but there is no point in using them if you dont need a contract mobile phone as in the long run it would be cheaper to just buy a psp from a retailer, but i got a contract phone and an xbox 360 last year from themEveryones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.0 -
simple pyramid explains why these referral sites DO NOT WORK

assuming you need 6 referrers to sign up under you , then they each need 6 under them and so on
after the 10th layer you have used up ALL the people in the UK who have access to the internet to sign up (and you would never get 100% sign up anyway)Ex forum ambassador

I agree, just buy one if you can afford it. Almost any free gift from phone contracts or similar you will wind up paying for in the long run.0

I'm sorry but I will back up what the last person said... I have recieved over £3000 using referral websites. Do you really believe you can use up all the people in the UK??? You should not make posts like this when you don't know what you are talking about. Freebie Jeebies are the best example of a referral site. They are now worldwide. The best I have seen is people who have recieved over £20 000 from referral sites. I would suggest you visit eXceem if you need any proof. The members there have received well over £200 000 in total.
So please don't say these websites don't work when they clearly do. Most people like you just ASSUME they don't work or have had bad experiences with some. I guarantee if you knew a little you would not be so naive in your comments.
Sorry for the sounding harsh but it annoys me when people say stuff like this when they clearly don't have a clue!!!
simple maths.....there are so many people who you can sign up , after a few levels you run out of people
only real winners are the site owners who profit from people signing up for their offers and then failing to complete their referrals , pyramid I show is based on a 6 referral level , the freebie site you mention was asking for 9 referrals for any substantial gift , so the accessable population of the UK is reached with 6 levels based on that !
I'm board guide on the referrals and so I do have experience at looking at these schemes and have seen many variants , ALL are limited by the pyramid I show above, after a few levels how are you going to find new people to sign up.......they don't exist
advice to the original poster
referral scheme is a waste of time , Free gifts for mobile contracts is an expensive way to get the gifts ( you CAN get £100 from quidco for a sign up for a simplicity sim only 12 month contract , assuming it tracks properly , which is a very good deal and put the £100 towards the PSP)
or just bite the bullet and pay for it outrightEx forum ambassador

Looks like the only people that are saying these "refer friend" sites work are the people trying to plug their own site.
It's much harder than you think, trying to pursuade your friend or family member to change their phone/tv/broadband provider.0
