Hey Guys,
We're in teh middle of buying a house but my partner is going back to uni so the mortgage is in my name only, as i wanted to have hte mortgage at an affordable rate so i can pay it whilst she is still in uni, as opposed to borrowing more using both our names.
I want to add her name to the deeds, but i dont want to add her name to the mortgage, is this possible, and if so how do i go about it?
Cheers guys!

No. You can't have two names on the deeds and only one on the mortgage.
You can have a separate document, a Declaration of Trust, setting out that you hold the property on behalf of yourself and her in the following shares - and any other agreement you would like in there.
Think very carefully before buying a house to share, rather than in just your name. If you split up and house prices had increased, you may need to buy her share out.0 -
The "Decleration of Trust" can that be obtained through a solicitor yh? And as it stands could it have written in there that we own 50% of the house each, but should the house need to be sold her share will be 50% minus the 20k deposit that I paid?
So that should anything happen I would only be liable to buy out her share - the deposit i paid for initially.
