Bircher Muesli - oats soaked overnight - anyone know recipe?

I've just been reading the porridge (porage?) thread, and wonder if anyone on this forum knows the recipe for a form of muesli I used to eat in Germany when I was quite young. I think it was called Birch or Birche or something (might have been the author of a book or something).
It was made by soaking some oats in the fridge overnight in something (milk? water? lemon juice?) and then adding yoghurt and fruit - not cooked at all. I used to really like this for breakfast with banana and fresh fruit etc., but just can't remember how to make it properly. I've tried a few time with various combinations, but just ended up with a variety of yukky gloop.
Anyone know the recipe? It is very healthy and probably quite cheap to make....

Its Bircher muesli, and is simply put muesli in bowl, pour apple juice over, cling film and put in fridge overnight. Serve next morning with your choice of either yogurt and/or milk, and fresh fruit (personally recommend blueberries and strawberries)0

That's the stuff, thank you. It's the Bircher-Benner name I half remembered, but when I tried a mis-spelt search in Google I just found a lot of German sites (which as I don't speak German was not much use!)

Just got back from a couple of nights at a wonderful hotel. On the buffet breakfast table, Bircher muesli was labelled in a huge dish. Never heard of it before but it tasted divine and I would love to make it at home. However all the recipes I'm googling don't seem to describe the heavenly stuff I tasted. It tasted roasted and rich with honeyed crispy bits. On line recipes include grated apples, yoghurt and soaked oats which don't sound right.
Has anyone mastered this recipe and willing to pass on some tips/

Soaked oats, grated apple, chopped hazlenuts or almonds and yoghurt(originally sweetened condensed milk) plus lemon juice are the correct ingredients and it is indeed divine. Honeyed crispy bits are the aliens to a genuine Bircher Muesli. The only way you can recreate what you had is to ask the hotel for their recipe or trial and error with granola or similar.0

Was the muesli you had sloppy? Proper Birchermuslei is indeed made from grated apple, yoghurt, milk and nuts and has a fairly loose consistency. If yours was crunchy, perhaps it was more a granola?0

It sounds like you ate granola; Bircher muesli is oats soaked in milk, then grated apple and other fruits added.
