FTB's with a question.

Hi all,
Having lurked in the forums for a couple of weeks I need some advice.
My partner and I have arranged and been approved for a FTB mortgage with Bristol and West via the Post Office. Propety value of £175,000 agreed by the valuation, and our mortgage amount is £138,000.
Now we asked for a Homebuyers Report, and have paid for it. When do we get to see this report? With the mortgage offer we only received a valuation summary.
Secondly, B+W have stipulated that they must be 'joint policyholders' and 'agree in writing' for our chosen buldings and contents insurers. Is this commonplace, or is it their way of scaremongering us into taking their more expoensive policy?
Sorry if this is fairly obvious stuff. We did start off using my IFA, but we swiftly told him where to go when he got us a DIP for 128k with monthly payments of £890. We went on Compare the market and got £138k for £822.90 a month - where the IFA got his figures from I'd love to know. For sure he wasn't acting in our best interests!
Many thanks,
Roger
