July's Spending Diary

So.....June was a reasonable success, with my spending diary making me think about what I was spending, and what could possibly have been avoided with a little effort.
As a result, I was within my grocery challenge budget, and I notched up 10 NSDs :T
So, July's diary needs the same amount of focus, but I am going to refine it just a little and try and split the spends into:
Petrol and bus fares
Groceries
Skiing
Stuff
Out of this I will try and highlight the avoidable spends to see what can be cut back on next time round!
I still have quite a lot going on this month -three ski races, a trip to see Take That on Saturday, and a couple of birthdays, plus I have to pay some money towards DD's trip to China later in the year, so hopefully by splitting it into these subsections, I can see where I need to try and work harder.
As a way of retaining the focus, last Friday I took out £20 from the bank to set myself the challenge of seeing how long it could last. This is for "spends" such as the coffees at the ski club, bars of chocolate at work, lunch from the shop if I don't bring my own etc. I am on day 6 and still have £18.41 left......so am going well!!

I met DD in the city for lunch today, so spent £6.31 out of my £20. I now have £12.10 of that left, so still doing ok
It was a nice treat for both of us.
Also £7.20 on a bus ticket for DD to get to work experience for the next week.
And £1.80 on a birthday card for my nephew.
So, spending for July so far is:
Stuff - £8.11
Petrol/Bus - £7.20Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
£141.16 on groceries and fruit yesterday  But that is to feed six of us, and because two of those are "paying guests" I need to have a reasonable amount of food in the house...
So, spend for 2nd July - £141.16
Total spends for July:
Groceries - £141.16
Stuff - £8.11
Petrol/Bus - £7.20 (+ approx £50 that OH filled up yesterday but I haven't seen the right amount yet, so will add it in due course)
Aiming for a NSD today.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
