Received my first 'Loan settled confirmation!

Hi all,

I am very please as the early discharge clerk is obviuosly on the case as today I received a statement from on on my creditors with an 'interbranch payment' on it for the full amount and 'Account closed' written boldly at the bottom of the statement with a zero balance!

Im very pleased so it looks like it will not be much longer!

A quick question to those who were discharged early:

How long did it take from when your details were passed to the early dicharge clerk until you received your letter of discharge?

I was told 3 months! Surely this is an over extimate to make them look good? Whats the average time?

Thanks

Emby

The letter from your creditor has nothing to do with ED, just your creditor writing off the debt.

But it may mean the creditor has been informed of the intention of ED, the same happened to me, i logged on to LTSB, saw my sole account had gone, checked the IS, and i had been given ED

But dont take that as read OP, but it 'might' be a good sign, just dont get your hopes up, as ED is a bit of a lottery
Thats it, i am done, Blind-as-a-Bat has left the forum, for good this time, there is no way I can recover this account, as the password was random, and not recorded, and the email used no longer exits, nor can be recovered to recover the account, goodbye all …………. :(

This will give you an idea of the process,

The OR will firstly send 'report to creditors' this is normally done within 8 weeks of the making of the bankruptcy order (your appearance at court etc). It's the initial report from the OR that tells creditors (amongst other things) the reasons for the insolvency and the likelihood of creditors receiving any payments from the estate.

The OR's office must then wait 3 months before they can consider starting the ED process if they feel it is appropriate.

For the ED, you have 14+7 days to return the IPOQ (I&E questionnaire..this is sent to you from the OR office if your considered for ED) after which the OR can write to the creditors to say that they will be applying for the ED and request any objections.

The OR's office must then wait 28 +7 days to allow creditors to reply. Then if no valid objections have been received, the ED notice can be submitted to the court.

So the quickest the ED could happen (in theory) is 56-57 days after the you get the ED/IPOQ letter.
it often takes longer and can even be shelved at any stage if the office is too busy with new cases as ED is NEVER a guarantee...

  • I had a zero balance from Vodaphone today. The first move after 4 months approx BR. The demands are getting less each week and the bribes too. I think, most if not all know but some are still trying it on with wasted threats and underhand skullduggery Ex. pay some off and we will give you some free. That sort of thing
