Let down by Tesco, but can you help save my wedding day?

Hi, this is only my first post, and I am after advice and help.
I posted this in a previous thread about 6 bottles of Baron Phillipe de Rothschild Enchante Sauvignon Semillion Bordeaux (2007) for £19.50
Does anyone know where to get a similar quality wine for a good price, I have two weeks untill the wedding but no wine so any suggestions would be welcomed.
Thanks in advance!
seriously let down by Tesco
With the previously mentioned great offer my fiancee and I decided to use both the red and white as the wine for our wedding day. We tried to buy it online when the offer first came out but due to a technical problem with their website they were unable to it.
Not to be outdone we ordered some in store to pick up, this was done on 15/06/2009. The day for collection was 23/26/09. While we were waiting for our order of 78 bottles of each type we were stockpiling the wine by buying it off the shelf in our local store.
When I drove down to Tesco with a van I had rented to pick up our 156 bottles to my horror they told me they were unable to get them from the warehouse because it was out of stock. (No phone call before, no real apology just that they can't guarantee orders placed in store)
My fianc!e and I don't want to mix and match different wine types so now have a bit of a problem thanks to Tesco. The annoying thing is that if they had told us that they could not get the delivery earlier we could have gone to all the local stores and brought more of the wine we were stockpiling from different stores and had enough.
I phoned Tesco and said I would drive anywhere in the country to pick some up if they had any left but they would not help. Even phoning the stores around proved fruitless as the most any one store had was 24 bottles and there was no guarantee that by the time we drove round them all they would still be there.
I think the best plan is to take back the bottles we already have, and get some wine somewhere else.
Does anybody have any suggestions of what to do next? Or know where we can get a similar quality wine for the same price?
–Thanks for your help

I would take a bottle in to your local branch of Majestic wine and firstly see if they do this wine (you could check on their website first) and if not, ask if they can match it for you taste-wise. I understand you wanting all the same wines for your wedding but maybe it wouldn't be so bad if all the wine tasted the same? Majestic have always been great for us; really helpful and they also deliver for free, usually with 24 hours of your order (or you can pick it up in store). We find they are also good with prices. Good luck, I hope you get something sorted out.A [STRIKE]B[/STRIKE][STRIKE]C [/STRIKE]D E [STRIKE]F[/STRIKE]G H I J K L M N O P Q R S [STRIKE]T[/STRIKE]U V [STRIKE]W [/STRIKE]X Y Z0

If you know anyone with a Costco card they do lots of cases of wine there too. Good luck..This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

We had a similar problem with Tesco when we got married. Ended up getting the wine from Sainsburys. No problems and ended up with nicer bottles for less.0

I agree its crap. Please don't blame the poor guy in store though. He can put the order through, and he can see it appear on the screen for the day you want it delivered, however if the order is going to be refused he won't know until the delivery it was supposed to arrive on arrives in store and is accepted onto the system. I know the system is crap in this respect, but while Tesco could have done something better to help, its not the fault of the guy in the shop. On another note though, customer orders generally take precedence over other stores, so there must be literally none left in the depot, since there could be say just 100 cases left in the depot and 10 stores order it normally, then you come in with your customer order for 100 cases, those other 10 stores get nothing while they satisfy your order.0
