Hi All,

My boyfriend is going to be going BR at end of this month and we are just making sure we have the procedure correct, dont want to mess it up.
Im going to put his SOA on here for you all to quickly look over before we do yo make sure it looks ok, we did this a few weeks ago but it will need one or two adjustments.

1. Already set up his co-op cashminder BR account
2. Cancel direct debits to creditors with old bank
3. When he gets paid 26June withdraw cash for use rest of month
4. 29June filll in SOA and debtors petition on insolvency website
making copies of the forms
5. BREATH A HUGE SIGH OF RELIEF!

Please let me know if ive missed anything out here, thanks everyone

  • Check with your court you may need to make an appointment mine was 3 weeks
  • You probably already have done this but make sure you have ALL bank/credit card/loan etc statements and account numbers and addresses and the same if anything has been passed to debt management companies. Will make filling in forms a lot easier, also i was asked for the last 12 months of bank and credit card statements. However that was a year ago and i think they are a lot busier this year.

Thanks for that, i`ll have a look on our local court website and check what I need to do regards a court date as my boyfriend works shifts so we will have to arrange it around these or maybe on his off duty day.
Theres so much to do so want to make sure do it all correctly

My boyfriend was subject to identity fraud last year and so he shreds all statements once they have been paid each month but he will have the july statements. He hasn`t yet defaulted on a payment but thats only because hes been drawing cash off each credit card to pay the minimum payment on another. As he has now addressed his problem and what needs to be done he will not be making the minimum payments on his loan and four credit cards for the month of July.
We are not looking forward to be bombarded by calls and letters!
From reading other posts here i guess the best thing to do is answer the initial call and advise them he has filed for BR and is waiting to go to court and for and OR to be appointed.

As regards the form filling - you mean the SOA and BR forms or are there other forms Im not aware of?

Ok, maybe i`ll tell him to say he`s consulting the CCCS and then hopefully once we receive and OR then they will be hearing from them!
    Thanks for the advice :T

Sorry, when you fill in the bankruptcy forms it asks for the creditors and account numbers to be filled in. Perhaps the form has changed in last twelve months but i think i filled in 2 pages worth of creditors and account numbers etc! They need to know who the creditors are because the offficial reciever contacts them all regarding the bankruptcy

I filled them in by hand though i didnt know at the time it could be done on the web. I hope you can get it all sorted.

Ah, I see, thats ok ive got all that then so as long as he has it to hand at the time he`s completing the forms then he should be ok.
We are going to be doing it on the internet and then after we will have a very large drink and breathe a sigh of relief (i hope!)
