Credit Rating & CCJ's

Hi

I have recently been refused on a couple of applications based on credit checks.

I believe I could have CCJ which could be the cause of these rejections.

Does anyone have any information on how to go about having the CCJ removed from your credit rating?

Hi

Firstly you need to see if you have a CCj and what else is on your credit files. I'd suggest you get copies from all 3 agencies Experian, Equifax & Callcredit (the first 2 do online free trials -providing you cancel on time) All do postal statutory reports for £2 each.

Then if you have a CCJ if they wrote to you about prior to it being issued and you recieved the letter then you cannot have it removed - you can pay the CCJ and it will then show as settled but will still stay on your report for 6years from the date it was issued.

If they sent the CCJ notice to an address that you no longer lived at and you can prove that you informed the creditor that you had moved addresses you may be able to get the judgement set aside.

But get your reports first.
