    The Garmin I3 is probably the cheapest device on the market. Several weeks ago many people on this site bagged them for £99 each. The cheapest place is Halfords now at £130.

    I don't regret getting the device. It does everything I want it to do i.e. voice/visual communication, good prompting, up-to-date mapping (Jan 06 infact) and software. Just remember the screen is smaller than Tom Toms although as clear and it is not touch screen. If you want these features and many more the Tom Toms are your answer.

    I3 supports speed camera location databases too if you're interested in that sort of thing. Tom Toms do too. Good luck, its definitely the time to grab one if you drive a lot.

    Hi;

    Can agreed with NAV-MAN is def one to avoid, TOM TOM is good (can't fault) - especialy the new ONE. There are currently some very good deals as TOM TOM are about to launch their new range meaning the 700 can be found for around £350.

    I personaly have a GARMIN QUEST - excellent portable, waterproof, rechargeable, and AMAZING customer support from the boffins at GARMIN who roll over backwards to help you (REALLY I CAN NOT RATE THEM HIGH ENOUGH!!) - free software inc firmware updates from https://www.garmin.com.

    Father in law to be has just got the Garmin I3 - for someone that is not that "quick" with technology he's taken like a duck to water to it; quick easy to use; very small (small enough to put in pocket or glove box out of the way and a really really small docking stattion - unlike TOM TOM). Currentlt on offer in Halfords for £129

    So in my personal opinion AVOID NAV MAN, GARMIN SUPERB, TOM TOM also very good but often the physical size may put you off...
    Me i'm always after a good deal.. :rotfl:

    I would go for a Tomtom One. We bought one a couple of weeks ago and it seems to be fantastic bit of kit.

    We got ours inc Tomtom travel case for £233 from Dixons online. You need to use a discount voucher which are available on the net.

    Got the Garmin I3 here too. Its a great wee machine. I was worried that the screen was a bit small but its not a problem at all. Directions are very easy to follow and its small enough that I can just chuck it in the glove box when not being used.

    I use TomTom mobile 5 on my Nokia N70. Cheapest way of doing it.
    Bet match total as of 04/10 = God Knows + About £1000 Quidco. Time for Mrs Huddsta to have a crack!!!

    The Bronze Challenge - earn £250 in profits =£73.32

    When i bought my first sat nav medion (grr) from halfords had lots and lots of problems.Halfords were very poor.They have a disclaimer to say if faulty,this has to go through the manufacturer,not them,meaning it has to be sent off and they will never refund you.I know this seems to fly in the face of sale of goods act,and i dont know if anyone else has had the same problem.Would definitely be worthwhile asking what the policy would be if you wanteed a refund.From my experiences,i would avoid Halfords.
