Your best bet is the TomTom ONE for £240 from Halfords. I think you may have an 'athermic' windscreen, in which case you need a satnav with the SIRF III chip in it, this gives better reception.

I have a Navman icn520 and not impressed. The supplied U.K. maps on the SD card included are way out of date and 4 times out of 5 the directions given by the unit are incorrect which, when you are not familiar with where you are is frustrating to say the least.
So in my opinion, Navman is one to avoid!0 -
I have mio 168 pda.
Had it since October last year it is loaded with TOM TOM 5 and it as proved to be the best gadget I have bought in years.
So I guess tomtom must be the best.0 -
Bought a TomTom 700 just before Xmas and it has been great. Wouldn't go anywhere without it now.
As a matter of interest, if you are looking for TomToms you can track the price to find the cheapest models here:

Also, look for discount codes here.0 -
Get some flavour of Tom Tom.
It doesnt matter which one.
The main thing is that it is easy to use and configure.
Some of the others are quite awkward to configure for the "safety camera" database for instance0 -
What about the garmin steetpilot i3 is this any good ?
Ps thanks for the good posts !0
