[QUOTE=_Decided_to_only_post_re:_the_smoking_when_I_am_past_DAY_3_so_watch_this_space_:cool:[/QUOTE]
This is actually my 4th day since quitting and it really has been a breeze. I am not being naive as I know that cravings can pop up at anytime but I really wish I had just done this sooner.
I have already saved £24 as I would normally buy 40 on a Saturday. I am waking up fresh and energetic. There are many more benefits to follow in the coming weeks and I can't wait.
I would never undermine the struggle that some people go through when they attempt to give up nicotine but it really is down to your mentality in the end. I try to see craves as reminders of this wonderful thing I have done for my health and finances. To help me futher I have printed out the benefits of not smoking onto a sheet of paper and I carry it around in my wallet. I have promised myself that I will always read it first if I ever feel like buying cigs.
I am still teetotal after almost 8 weeks and have gotten into my fitness regime(4 times a week - Strength 85% Cardio 15%)
Just two months ago I drank to excess, smoked, gambled, ate crap and got no exercise. That was my life and they were my vices...... Now I don't drink, smoke or gamble, I eat a nutritious diet and exercise every other day.
In September I will clear that dang Halifax card and then decimate the HBoS Overdraft(fighting talk!)
By the way I don't plan on being a complete square for the rest of my twenties. When I am debt free and more disciplined I do intend to drink booze but only when the occasion calls for it and to a reasonably sensible limit.Debt @ Worst (Aug 08) = £14,781.96
Debt - June 09 £13,267.23 > Debt - July 09 £12,320.47 > Debt - Aug 09 £12,291.60
It is not a matter of if you will go to war with quitting smoking, but a matter of WHEN you will go to war - will you go while you are healthy and in control or when you are dying?0 -

I should also report that I had a few drinks last night to celebrate some good news for a close relative and also succumbed to cigarettes. I am not disheartened though.
Normally I would finish any left over booze the next morning and start smoking again but today I got up (suffered the headache) and binned the booze and have had no cravings for cigarettes whatsoever. I brushed my teeth with three different brands of paste and gargled mouthwash to rid myself of that disgusting taste. I am going to the gym in the next hour.
I can honestly say that I have turned a new leaf and can only see positives.
Also I have decided to abstain from alcohol until Christmas day. Easy :cool:
