That's it then, i'm going out and getting an HDTV! The whole family can gather round it and marvel at the graphical quality of Xbox 360 games.
Each to their own I know, unless you actually need a TV right now, surely getting an HDTV now isn't the most astute of money saving excercises?0 -
i guess the bulk of people buying HDTV now are people who own xbox360 and have preordered skyHD0

I believe the BBC are broadcasting HDTV during this summers World Cup.0

I might be wrong, but doesn't Sky's HDTV broadcasts amount to a Discovery and sports channel?0 -
I am expecting to buy a plasma or LCD TV which is not "HDTV ready" in the near future, simply because they seem to charge a lot less for these than they do for ones which are "HDTV ready"

Great find and great spec!! The £749 one is even better!! Thanks Snow-Munki!!
Oh .. P.S. yes, the number of HD channels at the moment don't amount to many but this is on the increase. Monthly costs from Sky will be £10 for those interested..... and the box is £299.
P.P.S. I am buying an HD ready TV coz I am in the process of buying a new TV and the specifications of the HD ones far outway those of standard.
If you just want a TV for watching bulk standard TV, these type of tellys are not the ones for you. Don't waste your money.
If you want a high spec system, to make the most of graphics, features (picture in picture), connectivity (connecting computer etc.) and most importantly picture quality, then this sort of thing is right up your street and at a cracking price!!!0 -
Yes, that's quite common when people buy TVsI am buying an HD ready TV coz I am in the process of buying a new TV

There are plenty of HDTV broadcasts if you own a motorised HDTV satellite TV receiver. Some of these are free, and some require a subscription.

Unless you actually 'need' a new TV then I would wait until your existing one breaks down.
It is actually very difficult to find a good 32inch CRT TV for under £700.
There are Samsungs and Sanyo's about for around £400 but these are low end budget CRT TV's with a poor picture quality in most cases, and not 100Hz which is needed on a 32inch CRT to avoid flicker.
The cost of flat screen TV's are in freefall at the moment, just look at the prices of DVD only recorders now.
The price of LCD TV's will be half what they are now within 2 years, which makes buying now very poor value for money.0
